Beijing, – August 30, 2007 – Edward Lehman, managing partner of the firm Lehman, Lee & Xu, was featured as a guest on China Central Television’s Dialogue program. The episode introduced China's new anti-monopoly law and discussed various issues related its promulgation. The half-hour show was hosted by Mr. Yang Rui also included Mr. W. Vincent Chen from Dacheng Law Offices.

The Anti-monopoly Law is seen as a welcome change for China, which began drafting the law in 1994. Mr. Lehman sees the move as signaling China's "moving from a planned economy to a market economy and that this move for the Chinese was not really a question of ‘if’ but when.” Although the media has reported extensively on the potential impacts on foreign investors, Mr. Lehman sees the law as having a much greater impact on Chinese businesses, as foreign mergers and acquisitions are only a small percentage of the number which take place in China.
