Fit For An Autopsy to Headline the Metal Stage at Park Rock Fest

Leonardtown, MD - is an American band from Jersey City, New Jersey, formed in 2008. The band consists of guitarists Will Putney, Pat Sheridan and Tim Howley, drummer Josean Orta, bassist Peter "Blue" Spinazola and vocalist Joe Badolato. One sure sign of a strong band is constant collaboration, an eagerness to learn and grow, and this one group of Jersey City boys thrives off of the ever-churning undertow of musical exploration. Following their project with and (“The Depression Sessions”), Fit For an Autopsy then presented “The Great Collapse”, the band’s third album release with eOne Music. Today with a new lineup and a fresh stack of tour dates, one of the heaviest outfits in music is back to crush the scene with their performance at Park Rock Fest 2018.

The crushing music of Fit For An Autopsy is for any fan of , as it’s devoid of preachy politics or grandstanding soapboxing, but its sound and fury is absolutely unflinching in purpose. The band expertly blends excessive-force fueled with atmospheric groove and impassioned personal diatribes, reflecting back the dark state of current events. Fit For An Autopsy are metal guys, to be certain, but they grew up in the hardcore scene. They embrace the responsibility to put as much devoted purpose into their lyrics and message as they do into their dense, heady, songs, forging a magnificently powerful new post-deathcore.

The band released their first demo in 2008, followed a year later by the group's first EP, “Hell on Earth”. In 2011, Fit for an Autopsy released their first full-length LP, “The Process of Human Extermination”. In September 2013 the band released their second album, Hellbound. In early 2015, they released their third album, named “Absolute Hope Absolute Hell”, on October 2, 2015. In July 2016, the band has announced a split-album, named “The Depression Sessions” with fellow deathcore bands, Thy Art Is Murder and The Acacia Strain. The EP was released on August 12, 2016. The band released a new song, "Heads Will Hang," on January 31, 2017 from their fourth studio album "The Great Collapse". The album was released on March 17, 2017. On May 8th 2018 Fit For An Autopsy announced they signed with .

“On Hellbound”, Fit For An Autopsy expanded their commanding approach to death metal with hints of by absorbing increasingly diverse elements, from the rhythmic experimentalism of Gojira to the aggressive post-Noisecore of Converge, with a dose of the New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal, and a touch of groove unique to the New Jersey six-piece.

There’s no doubt about it: “The Great Collapse” album is a hefty one. However, it is also the most dynamic and intriguing record FFAA have recorded to date. The “Great Collapse” features the same kind of brutality fans have grown accustomed to hearing from the band, but also introduces some more atmospheric, brooding elements that make the record not just loud, but touching. This is not just media’s opinion, but the opinion of Putney and the rest of the band members, as well.

While “The Great Collapse” covers topics ranging from politics, capitalism and the environment (even the North Dakota pipeline issue), Putney makes it very clear that it is still very much about the individual. “There are some songs that take a more personal reflection of yourself and being in a world like this; what it turns you into,” he shares. “We don’t solve the problems and don’t claim to know how to solve the problems. You don’t get a positive result in our lyrics. We just write about how it makes us feel and what we think is wrong. I think the first step to solving a problem is pointing out that there is one.”

Pat Sheridan, said “we played the With Full Force Festival in Germany. It was our very first European festival that we’ve ever done. We played for a crowd between 12,000 and 14,000 people and yeah, I felt like I was going to throw up. It was crazy. But the experience was amazing and it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, to have an opportunity like that. We played four bands before ,”

Over the past year, Fit For An Autopsy has grown into a monster. With a new outlook on the music they want to create, FFAA will carve their name into the backs of every venue they play. New singer Nate Johnson, (former member of Deadwater Drowning, Premonitions of War, Since the Flood, and many others), bass player Seth (ex-Acacia Strain), drummer Brian (ex-Forgetting Tomorrow) along with original members Will (ex-Signed With Hate, Forgetting Tomorrow, Nothing Left To Mourn), and Pat (ex-Shattered Realm, Nothing Left To Mourn) on guitar, Fit For An Autopsy is complete.
