January 26, 2009 Issue 125 Country & KISS Draw 25,000 WKIS/Miami held its 24th Annual Chili Cook-Off yesterday (Jan. 25) in what has become one of the largest single-day radio station sponsored events in the country. More than 25,000 avid Country fans crammed into CB Smith Park at $40 a pop ($45 at the door) to watch Justin Moore, Little Big Town, Jason Aldean, Jessica Simpson and Alan Jackson perform. Amidst the music, 92 teams sliced, diced and prepared their entries for the chili-making contest, where the winner receives an entry in the world chili cook-off championships. Little Big Town delivered an incredible version of the National Anthem as activities got underway.
