The West Wing Weekly 1.22: What Kind of Day Has It Been [Intro Music] HRISHI: You’re listening the The West Wing Weekly, I’m Hrishikesh Hirway JOSH: ..and I’m Joshua Malina HRISHI: Today, we’re talking about the finale of season one JOSH: Woo! HRISHI: It’s episode 22, and it’s called ‘What kind of day has it been’. JOSH: It was written by Aaron Sorkin, it was directed by Tommy Schlamme, and it originally aired on May 17th, in the year 2000. HRISHI: Here’s a synopsis.. JOSH: A hrynopsis? HRISHI: [laughs] Sure.. JOSH: I just wanted to make sure because, you know, it’s an important distinction. HRISHI: An American fighter jet goes down in Iraq, and a rescue mission ensues to find the pilot. But, it’s a covert operation, so CJ has to mislead the press. Toby’s brother is onboard the space shuttle Columbia, but it’s having mechanical difficulties and can’t land. Plus, Josh has to meet with the Vice President to bring him around to the Bartlet administration's plans for campaign finance. President Bartlet travels to Rosalind, Virginia, to speak at the Newseum and give a live town hall meeting. But as they’re exiting, S#&* goes down and shots ring out. SXSW FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2018 FEATURES AND OPENING NIGHT FILM A QUIET PLACE Film Festival Celebrates 25th Edition Austin, Texas, January 31, 2018 – The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals announced the features lineup and opening night film for the 25th edition of the Film Festival, running March 9-18, 2018 in Austin, Texas. The acclaimed program draws thousands of fans, filmmakers, press, and industry leaders every year to immerse themselves in the most innovative, smart and entertaining new films of the year. During the nine days of SXSW 132 features will be shown, with additional titles yet to be announced. Beat up by the impact of heavy gravel trucks the road wasn’t designed to carry, Tooele County commissioners are contem- plating the future of what once was a dirt path that connected Grantsville with early settlers in Rush Valley. The nearly 19-mile road runs from the west side of Grantsville to Rush Valley. Last week, Tooele County filled potholes and worn-out portions of Mormon Trail Road south of South Mountain Road with gravel. This week, a contractor begins regular pothole repairs of Mormon Trail Road north of South Mountain Road, Bitner said. At $2.70 per square-foot of pothole filling, the county has budgeted $50,000 for pothole repair countywide for 2016. The contractor will begin with Mormon Trail Road, but the $50,000 includes work on Erda Way, Burmester Road, and other county roads, according to Rod Thompson, Tooele County Roads Department director. The last major overhaul of Mormon Trail Road was around 25 years ago, he said. Cast: John Belushi, Tim Matheson, John Vernon, Thomas Hulce. Summary: Comedy film set at a 1960s Middle Western college. The members of Delta Tau Chi fraternity offend the straight-arrow and up-tight people on campus in a film which irreverently mocks college traditions.
