    Albany Joins The NAL Albany, NY - The National Arena League is proud to announce their new partnership and expansion into Albany, New York. The Albany arena team, under the ownership of Ron Tridico and Nate Starling, are joining the NAL and fielding a team starting in the 2021 season. Albany has signed a three-year agreement and will play in the Times Union Center. Starling shared, “I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to bring such a wonderful sport back to my home state and fans.” Tridico also added, “We are excited to expand to this historic market and get started. We can’t wait for the 2021 season.” The NAL is currently made up of 9 teams; Columbus Lions, W.V. Roughriders, Carolina Cobras, Jersey Flight, Jacksonville Sharks, Louisville Xtreme, Tampa Bay, Baltimore Lightning and Orlando Predators. The NAL is thrilled to be expanding to the Albany region that has a great fan base and a rich tradition of winning. “The addition of this market is tremendous for the NAL,” stated Commissioner Chris Siegfried. “Adding Albany, the recent AFL champions, into our league is going to make for a ton of excitement in 2021. Preston James, IV joined our faculty to teach Sports Management this year. He started off with a bang and has not slowed since. Our students worked home games for the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta United and the Peach Bowl. They were able to tour Mercedes Benz stadium before it was open to the public. In the coming year, they will be working the Super Bowl. Preston and a few of his top students started a Sports Management Club and it has grown to 30 students. We also revamped our concentrations. We are offering Marketing and Entrepreneurship instead of just Entrepreneurship in response to student demand. These student visited the Atlanta Tech Village during the year and will be attending the prestigious Atlanta Start-Up Competition this fall. Both concentrations increased in courses (we removed general business courses) in order to better prepare students for their chosen fields.

    A YEAR IN REVIEW ANNUAL REPORT Fiscal Year 2013-2014 The Organization The Von Braun Center is governed by a seven-member BOARD Board of Control appointed by the Mayor of Huntsville and the City Council. OF The Von Braun Center is an anchor within its community. CONTROL Located in downtown Huntsville, the VBC offers a beautiful Wayne Bonner, Chairman facility for local, regional, and national events. VBC provides multiple venues for the presentation of cultural, educational, entertainment, sporting and social events. The VBC has a staff of proven professionals ready to contribute to the success of your event. The History The Von Braun Center was built thanks to the foresight of , Vice Chairman , Secretary Eddie Turner Evans Quinlivan local leaders and a very real civic demand. The facility built in 1975 was welcomed by the community and the demand for use continued, leading to three additions within a ten year period driven largely by local and civic demand.
