• Classes must be paid for at time of registration. One week cancellation notice required for refund or credit fees. For blocks of the month, the upcoming session must be paid for BEFORE the date of the session. • It is important to have all your materials before class begins and to have your machine set up and ready to sew. Our teachers make every effort to start on time. • All brands of sewing machines and sergers are welcome. • As a courtesy to others, please turn off cell phones during class. If you must take a call, please step out of the classroom to limit disruption to the class. • Small, basic, non- machines are available for $10.00 rental fee at time of registration. • This class is for the specific project as described here. If you wish to make something different, it should be done outside of class. • PLEASE do not use perfumes, colognes, scented hair products, or lotions prior to class, so that those with allergies or asthma may enjoy the class as well.

Supplies you will need: • in good working order with power cord, foot control, slide on tray and a new needle. Be sure to clean and oil before class. • Basic Sewing Supplies - Good quality fabric - Small scissors or snips - ripper - Straight - Fabric marker - Extra machine needles - Pen & paper for notes - Anything else you commonly use for a day of sewing! • Anything else you commonly use for a day of sewing! • Your free-hand system (FHS), tray table, and a sliding seam guide (a ruler with a sliding gauge) • Fabric o A linen type tea towel that you have prewashed. o 5-6 2” strips that are 21” long. You will be using 3 on your towel and the others are for practice. o 1 piece of fabric that is 4” x 21” and is a strong contrast to the other strips you have chosen. • – You will need thread that contrasts your strips. I chose to use white for all of my stitching because it is what showed up the best. • Feet - #20C/20D open toed appliqué foot. If you have a 5mm machine you will use #20. You will also need the Spanish Hemstitch #47 attachment. • Your rotary cutter and a ruler that is at least 14” long. • You will want to bring starch as you will need to starch the strips before sewing on them. • Pencil and paper for taking notes, or your Bernina notebook.

Before coming to class: If you do not have the Spanish Attachment you will need to order it several weeks before the class.
