Carrera Evolution introduces genuine classics to the racing circuit

Salzburg, January 2018 – An authentic racing atmosphere at home is what Carrera is all about! Thanks to the large number of reproduction licenses and exclusive licenses for the slotcar segment, automobile enthusiasts are sure to find the right car to start every race. The detailed replica cars are the centre of attention on any race circuit. Drivers of 8 years and up guide the stars of DTM, Formula 1 and the GT series around the bends of this unique racing circuit system with skilful drifts.

The brand-new Carrera ‘DTM Speed Duel’ set offers pure DTM emotion. The 5.3-metre racetrack guarantees some extremely close duels between Gary Paffett in the Mercedes AMG C 63 and in the RS 5 DTM. This challenging course invites DTM fans to push the handheld controls to the limit for a high-velocity experience. The undiluted thrill of DTM is definitely a big part of this set.

The new ‘Ferrari Trophy’ set raises the pulse rate of all Ferrari fans as it contains everyone’s dream drive! The Italian carmakers do justice to the Cavallino Rampante emblem with these two 550 hp animals – one in the classic Ferrari red and the other all in black. The Ferrari 488 GT3 Scuderia Corsa ‘No. 68’ and the Ferrari 488 GT3 ‘Black Bull Racing, No. 46’ produce amazing speeds on the track and demand absolute concentration from their drivers as they tease out every single unit of racing power on the 6.3-metre racing circuit.

The new Formula 1 set ‘Lap Contest’ is all about absolute power. On the grid there’s no lesser driver than four-time world champion in his Ferrari SF70H. His opponent is the youngest Formula 1 driver ever, , in his TAG Heuer RB13. Ferrari and Red Bull fans will be delighted that the exclusive licenses ensure their personal favourites can be unboxed at home in the quality they have come to expect from Carrera. Even more Formula 1 action can be expected this year! Fans really love the two Red Bull Racing TAG Heuer RB 13s driven by Daniel Ricchiardo and Max Verstappen. These elegant powerhouses are adorned with the authentic Red Bull livery. The also take positions on the front row of the Carrera grid. Four-time world champion employs speed and skill in thrilling battles around the circuit in his Mercedes F1 W08 EQ Power+.

The best of DTM is again featured in this year’s selection on the hallowed Carrera tracks. At the front of the bunch is the Audi RS 5 DTM of Mattias Ekström. The Swedish racer’s powerful V8 engine earned him the runner-up spot in the championship. offers his speedy reactions and road-holding skills in his Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM. This stylish white automobile excites DTM fans everywhere as the successor to the most successful model ever to have competed in the DTM. This record-breaking car was first launched into action after a facelift in 2016. The radiant yellow and glaring green Audi RS 5 DTM of Mike Rockenfeller is a striking sight wherever it appears! As well as its head-turning looks, this stylish Audi Sport Team Phoenix automobile is fitted with some pioneering racing technology. Maxime Martin achieved an amazing top 10 position overall in the 2017 DTM season in his BMW M4 DTM: The sophisticated blue and white livery matches perfectly with the colours of the flag of Bavaria, the home of the automobile manufacturers BMW.

There’s lots of red-hot racing in store with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 ‘AKKA ASP, No.87’. The unique red, white and black livery grabs attention out on roads and circuits everywhere. The Mercedes AMG GT3 combines amazing speeds with the impressive stamina it has often shown in countless long-distance races.

The new Ford GT Race Car ‘No. 67’ thrills fans of high speeds and innovative design. It tears down the track with enhanced aerodynamics in the deep-black stealth look. 600 horsepower, a powerful V8 induction engine and sequential 6-gear system are the treats awaiting fans of the Corvette C7.R ‘No.69’. The dark and sophisticated powerhouse is an eye-catcher and a role model for other cult rides. Team Falken Motorsport goes back some way in the motor sports history books. The BMW M6 GT3 ‘Team Falken, No.3’ gained respect and achieved overall victory at the long-distance race around the Nürburgring circuit. This striking turquoise and blue beast hides a monster under the hood – and looks great too. The look of the Huracán GT3 ‘Imperial Racing Team, No.63’ just screams victory. This muscular automobile fears no opponent and pumps out a whole 610 horsepower in the battle for the finish line. Imperial Racing looks absolutely fantastic in its sophisticated green livery. The twins Marc and Dennis Busch share the driving of the Audi R8 LMS ‘Twin Busch, No.44’ and have already chalked up a number of wins. The bright yellow and anodised blue livery guarantees all eyes remain focused on this machine.

A particular highlight for faithful motorsports fans is the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Lechner Racing ‘Carrera Race Taxi’. The German automobile manufacturer has produced a genuine collectors’ item that now drives around Carrera’s famous black-track circuits and has been adorned with the cult Carrera logo. The aggressive, venom-green Ferrari 488 GT3 ‘Rinaldi Racing, No.333’ shows that Italian racing cars don’t just rely on the classic Ferrari red to look fantastic. The green-and-yellow livery puts the Ferrari 488 CT3 even more in the spotlight. Perhaps this even helped Team Rinaldi Racing win the Blancpain Spirit Series ProAm championship in 2017. The new additions to this year’s portfolio include several cult rides of the 60s, 70s and 80s to thrill Carrera fans of all ages. As is every car, the racing classics of yesteryear are also faithfully detailed reproductions, so fans can spot their favourite drives immediately. The stunning Chevrolet Dekon Monza ‘No.1’ waves the stars and stripes in the world of motor racing. This 1970s model opens up a whole box of tricks on the long-distance circuits, as it did in 1976 in Road Atlanta, when Al Holbert finished the 100-mile race at the top of the podium. The Porsche 917K Porsche Salzburg ‘No.23.’ takes fans back into German motor racing history. This is an unmistakable 1970s classic with its curved- over and stretched-out bodywork. This year the most successful racing automobile of the 1970s rolls out onto Carrera’s cult black tracks in an eye-catching red livery. The Ferrari 365 P2 Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. ‘No.17’ was mainly developed for private teams and competed for the British Team Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. in 1965 in the ’24-hour battle’ to rival the other main challenger, Ford. The Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 ‘Super Stocker II’ is no everyday road car. It had already earned its cult status in the 1960s and 1970s. The high-speed specialist is fitted with a ‘sports’ set-up, which also includes attractive front spoilers as well as an attention-grabbing flame design across the hood. One very special muscle car raises the pulse of all US racing fans: The Pontiac Firebird Trans AM challenges rivals from every era to some red-hot racing and chasing on the Carrera racing circuit. In 1967 the cooperation between Chevrolet and Pontiac produced this elegant, pitch-black speed machine with a golden Firebird logo on the hood. After mentioning Chevrolet and Pontiac, there’s an automobile from a manufacturer that simply can’t be left out: In the 70s and 80s the Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo ‘Sachs Sporting, No.52’ was a star on racing circuits around the globe. In 1979 the car bore the number 52 for the ‘Sachs Sporting’ team at the . Another 1980s classic is the BMW M1 Procar ‘BASF No.80’ 1980. The characteristic white spirals on a red background of the sponsor BASF always made this automobile a work of art. Motor racing legend Hans-Joachim Struck was often at the front of the field in this car in the 1980s, and showed both what he and this classic car were capable of in numerous long- distance and 24-hour races.

Disney●Pixar Cars – Fabulous Lightning McQueen has swapped his dazzling red paintjob for an elegant dark blue livery! The hero of the Disney●Pixar Cars films, Lightning McQueen, is just as fast as before and continues to whizz around the hallowed tracks of Carrera circuits at top speed.
