The event was held in order to highlight the Project and its implementation models. It was attended by Smt. S. Tainiu Deputy Commissioner Peren (DAC Chairman), Dr. Sentitula IFS DFO Peren (Member Secretary), Shri. Daniel DPO Peren and Member, Shri. Hewoto DAO Peren and Member, Smt. Aliuwang DFO office representative. PRIOR INFORMATION CONSENT (PIC) The FMU and Village Council had mobilized the community of the targeted village on the aspects of the formation of JFMC and the project objectives and strategies of NFMP. The FMU Head had decided on the inclusion/formation of JFMC for participating in the project based upon the assessment of the community willingness. With the approval of the Village Council and willingness of the community on the project, the first General meeting with the community was held on 05.09.2018 in Old Nkio and Nchangram Village and 08.09.2019 in Mpai Namchi village. 05.09.2018 in Old Nkio and Nchangram Village 08.09.2019 in Mpai Namchi village ORIENTATION OF FMU AND VILLAGE SENSITIZATION As per the directive of the JICA Manual, the FMU was formed headed by Range Forest Officer (RFO). In order to exercise its responsibility and duties, orientation program was conducted at the FMU level on the following topics: • Operational manual • Fiancé, fund management and accounting • Planning and M&E • Participatory approaches • Community development • Forestry technology and Reporting. Village sensitization at the targeted villages was held on 9th November 2018,meeting was conducted with the FMU Heads and field staff from Peren and Tening Range. On 17th November 2018 DMU Head visited to Tening Range Viz. Nchangram and Old Nkio village, Mpai Namchi under Peren Range on 20th November 2018. RECRUITMENT OF DMU SUPPORT STAFF For the recruitment of the DMU Support Staff, Recruitment Committee was formed for short listing of the candidates and for conducting interview of the shortlisted candidates for the Dmu support staff, headed by Dr. Sentitula IFS DMU Head, Dr. Tino Chang, ADC Jalukie and Shri. M. Obed Zeliang ACF, Asst. DMU as it members.Interview was held on 5th February 2019 at the DFO Cum DMU Head Office Jalukie for the selected candidates. JFMC FORMATION AND REGISTRATION: Joint Forest Management Committee has been formed in the entire 3 Batch 1 villages, two villages from Tening Range and one village from Peren Range. The Divisional Management Unit Head along with the Field Management Unit Head visited the selected batch one villages and had a sensitization meeting with the villages. Once the villages are aware about the project their prior informed consent was obtained before the JFMC was constituted and registered. A general body meeting was held before the executive member for the JFMC was nominated/selected/elected as requirement participation of women during these meeting was encouraging and positive. With the approval of the Village Council and DMU Head, JFMC was formed at the 3 villages for the Batch 1. They were Mpai Namchi under Peren Range on 11th February 2019, Nchangram under Tening Range on 12th February 2019 and Old Nkio under Tening Range on 12th February 2019 each were allotted with Registration Numbers bearing JFMC-1/2019 , JFMC-2/2019 and JFMC-3/2019 for Mpai Namchi, Old Nkio and Nchangram villages respectively. JFMC FORMATION & REGISTRATION MPAI NAMCI INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT Offices and quarters construction are on the verge of completion in both the Peren and Tening Ranges.     CENSUS OF INDIA 1971 SERIES 15 NAGALAND PART IX-A ADMINISTRATIVE ATLAS DANIEL KENT of the Indian Frcntier Administrative Service DIRECTOR OF CENSUS OPERATIONS NAG ALAND FOREWORD In order to ensure complete coverage at a population count, the Census Organisation obtains or prepares up-to-date detailed maps of all administrative units in the country on the eve of a Census. Though in several parts of the country maps of the Districts, Tehsils, Police Stations, etc., are available with the State Revenue or Survey Autho­ rities oftentimes, they required to be brought up-to-date and they also varied greatly in scale. One also found it difficult to secure a complete or compact set of all these maps from State Authorities. The Census Organisation took upon itself the task of updating of the administrative maps and the standardization of scales essentially to meet its own requirements of coverage at the Census and analysis of data. Standar­ dization of symbol was also attempted to depict certain features such as the State/District/Tehsil boul'ldaries, administrative headquarters, national and state highways and other roads, markets and mandis, post and telegraph offices, travellers' bunglows, hospitals, etc. All urban centres and larger villages were depicted by names in the district maps, and in the tehsil maps the location of every village by dots pro­ portionate to the population size and the distinctive location code number of each village marked. In each of the District Census Hand­ books (there are 356 districts in the country) the district map as well as the tehsil maps will be printed.
