Welcome to what promises to be a great summer season at Fire Island National Seashore! There is a lot going on this season including two major celebrations. This summer marks the 30th anniversary of the relighting of the and the 100th birthday of the National Park Service. I invite you to honor these special occasions and find your park by experiencing all the Seashore has to offer. At each of the National Park Service sites at Fire Island National Seashore you will find adventure, inspiration, and recreation. Whether you have come to soak in the sunshine, paddle with a park ranger along the , discover three centuries of change at the William Floyd Estate, climb to the top of the Fire Island Lighthouse tower, or camp in New York State’s only federally designated wilderness—you have come to the right place. In addition to joining one (or more!) of the park ranger-or partner-led programs listed on the pages that follow, I encourage you to: • Look at the Lens.
