INFORMATIONEN Um seine Country-Fans neu für sich zu gewinnen, kehrte Eddy Arnold – nach seinem Mittfünfziger-Versuch mit Popmusik – zu RCA Nashville zurück. Die Country-Legende griff wieder auf den Nashville Sound zurück, den er selbst mitentwickelt hatte und den Jim Reeves, Don Gibson, Chet Atkins und Anita Kerr zur Perfektion führten. Unter der Leitung von Atkins schuf Arnold bemerkenswerte Arbeiten, die stets ein wenig von seinen Country-Klassikern aus den späten Vierzigern und seinen üppigeren 'Countrypolitan'-Alben der Mittsechziger überschattet wurden. Obwohl Arnold allein zwischen 1958 und 1964 mehr als ein Dutzend Country-Chart-Hits verbuchen konnte, erschien nur weni- ger als ein Drittel davon auch auf LPs. 'Tears Broke Out On Me' schließt eine Lücke im Katalog des Sängers – die CD enthält 33 Titel, die seit 50 Jahren nicht mehr erhältlich waren und hier fast alle erstmals in Stereo zu hören sind. Unter den Höhepunkten sind: Arnolds originale Hitversion von After Loving You, das Elvis Presley 1969 während seiner gefeier- ten Sessions in den American Studios neu belebte; eine zuvor unveröffentlichte Fassung von Harlan Howards Klassiker She Cal- led Me Baby; und YouWere Mine For Awhile, eine Ballade von 1956, die an den ursprünglichen Country-Stil erinnert, der Arnold berühmt machte.
