NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEO WTVP REMOTE: Exciting New Resource for Distance Learning Kids and parents will remember the past few months as the time when school moved from the classroom to the living room. The internet has become the channel of choice for distributing educational content to students. The trouble with this is not everyone has access to the internet or even a computer. This means thousands of low-income urban families and rural residents were almost completely cut off from instruction after the governor’s fi rst stay-at-home order. I have written before about how WTVP PBS bridges the “digital divide” by reaching virtually every one of the 200,000 households in a 20-county region with our broadcast signal. In the next couple of months we are planning another huge step toward an even more equitable remote learning model. We’re calling it WTVP REMOTE, a fi fth broadcast channel funded by educational entities and major donors like Sid and Flo LESLEY MATUSZAK Banwart and others and it is dedicated solely to distance learning resources. Some of WTVP President and CEO the content will be from the PBS Digital Learning Library; most will be locally produced to meet the specifi c needs of our area students. You can read more about WTVP REMOTE elsewhere in the Program Guide. As a public media organization whose purpose is to serve the needs of the community, we know this is the right thing to do.

    To: Dunwoody Village Residents, Families and Staff From: Kathy Barton, Director of Operations Brandon Jolly, Director of Health Services Re: CONTINUED UPDATE RE: COVID-19 August 14, 2020 General Update: As you may be aware, Dunwoody has contracted an outside company to safely trap and transfer the feral cats and kittens that are on our campus. However, we find it necessary to review our efforts in continuing the relationship with the company. While the company is both humane and effective, it has come to our attention that residents are releasing the traps and continuing to feed the cats. The process of safe and humane removal is expensive, and the cost becomes prohibitive when residents work in a counterproductive manner to derail our efforts. Please be reminded that it is illegal to release the traps or to feed feral animals. Care Center Updates: The Beauty Salon remains open for full services, and you may schedule an appointment by calling 610-359-4447. In our efforts to minimize co-mingling from one level of care to another, appointments will be available on the following days for the different levels of care: • Woodlea residents Wednesday morning • Leeland residents Wednesday afternoon • Patten, Pavilion and Dundale West Thursday • Cedars West Wednesday afternoon (on Cedars) • Cedars East Friday afternoon (on Cedars) • Friday appointments in the salon are reserved for Residential residents. All staff and residents MUST wear properly fitted masks (covering both nose and mouth) while receiving salon services. If you cannot wear a properly fitted mask, you cannot receive service. Residential Updates: Health & Wellness: Due to the regulations made necessary by the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions put in place over the past several months, the Residential Social Services Department will be placing check-in calls to Residential Living residents beginning the week of 8/17/2020 and continuing for the next several weeks.

    KUAC PBS KIDS 24/7 SERVICES OVERVIEW PBS has launched new free 24/7 multiplatform children’s services. Provided by local stations, the free services include a new TV channel, a live stream on digital platforms and an interactive gaming feature, which will debut later in 2017. Together, these new services support KUAC’s mission to reach all children with high-quality educational content. These new services offer the very best child and parent experience, increasing access to award-winning PBS KIDS content, especially for those who need it the most, when it is most convenient. Starting June 5, 2017 KUAC will broadcast PBS KIDS shows 24 hours a day on KUAC 9.5 and offer a live stream, making it easy for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours when viewing among children is high. Viewers can watch the station-branded live stream through pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Video App, which is available on a variety of mobile devices and tablets. On-demand clips and full episodes continue to be available for free on the PBS KIDS Video App and pbskids.org. Streaming on pbskids.org accounts for over a third of all time spent watching kids videos online and the site is #1 in the kids’ category for total views and minutes spent.i Across digital platforms, PBS KIDS averages 363.2 million streams per month.ii Later this year, the live stream experience will expand to offer an integrated games feature, enabling children to toggle between a PBS KIDS show and an activity that extends learning – all in one seamless digital experience.

    VEGAS PBS ANNUAL PROGRAMMING PRODUCTION PLAN NETWORK AFFILIATION AGREEMENTS SCHOOL CABLE AND EBS CHANNEL RETRANSMISSION CONSENTS AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PROVIDER AUTHORIZATIONS 2019-2020 Strategic Imperatives: Clarity and Focus (SI-4) Focus Goals: Value/Return on Investment (FA-5) District Regulations 3312 and 2310 require Board approval for all purchases over $50,000.00 and $25,000.00, respectively. To accomplish channel scheduling and planned local productions, Vegas PBS contracts with network program providers and independent producers to accomplish a licensee-approved community service programming and a local production plan. Adoption of this plan grants Vegas PBS authority to purchase programming and production resources for those projects. The plan may be amended by Board action through the year if grant funds are secured for significant local program productions. Specific independent contractors are hired throughout the year following standard purchase order issuance by the Purchasing Department. The Purchasing Department has reviewed the request for purchase and has determined that contracting for these services may be exempted from the competitive bidding process in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 332. Vegas PBS has presented an annual production plan to the Board of School Trustees since 1996. For this item, board members act in their capacity as Federal Communication Commission (FCC) approved television licensees responsible for serving viewers in the station’s multi-state and four county service region. The programming and production plan authorizes national network programming affiliation agreements for KLVX-DT Channel 10’s three over the air channels and a possible fourth channel, plus six over the air Educational Broadband Service (EBS) channels serving school sites, three noncommercial educational cable channels, and 29 Clark County School District (CCSD) Classroom Cable channels.

    Nominations Announced for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ceremony will be Simulcast Live on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) LOS ANGELES (Dec. 12, 2012) — Nominees for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2012 in five film and eight primetime television categories as well as the SAG Awards honors for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood. SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ned Vaughn introduced Busy Philipps (TBS’ “Cougar Town” and the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® Social Media Ambassador) and Taye Diggs (“Private Practice”) who announced the nominees for this year’s Actors®. SAG Awards® Committee Vice Chair Daryl Anderson and Committee Member Woody Schultz announced the stunt ensemble nominees. The 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® will be simulcast live nationally on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. Introduction Off-air television stations broadcast signals from terrestrially-based facilities directly to television receivers. Comsearch identified those off-air stations whose service could potentially be affected by the proposed Glacier Sands Wind Project in Mason County, Illinois. Comsearch then examined the coverage of the stations and the communities in the area that could potentially have degraded television reception due to the location of the proposed wind turbines. 2. Summary of Results The proposed wind energy project area and local communities are depicted in Figure 1, below. Figure 1: Wind Farm Project Area and Local Communities Comsearch Proprietary - 1 - July 29, 2019 Glacier Sands Wind Power, LLC Wind Power GeoPlanner™ Off-Air Television Report Glacier Sands Wind To begin the analysis, Comsearch compiled all off-air television stations1 within 150 kilometers of the proposed turbines. TV stations at a distance of 150 kilometers or less are the most likely to provide off-air coverage to the project area and neighboring communities. These stations are listed in Table 1, below, and a plot depicting their locations is provided in Figure 2.
