The Eagle’s Eye February 28th, 2020 Issue No. 3 Spring: A New Beginning for Fitness and Wellness

Neya Kidambi ‘22 EE Senior Features Editor

As March approaches, we see the signs of Spring arrive: the heads of annual daffodils peek- ing out of the soil, longer days, and snowfall dying down (hopefully). This new beginning applies to our lives as well as nature. Midterms have ended and the new semester shows signs of promise. Many students, especial- ly freshman, take this time to dip their toes into the pool of Spring sports. Lacrosse, outdoor track, tennis, golf, and many more sports present new opportunities for stu- dents. One freshman says, “I really can’t wait for spring sports to start because the weather is perfect for outdoor practice.” For many students like this one, the warmer weather promotes better health and well- ness as students start to get in- volved. Additionally, sports like track, which are pay-to-play, give students an opportunity to get in- volved with school sports without the pressure of tryouts.
