Jeff Pickler File

In a baseball career that includes NCAA Division-I All-America, First-Team Academic All-America, Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, 8 years playing , over 1,000 professional base hits, and 3 years scouting for the , Jeff Pickler, first and foremost, is a teacher of the game of baseball.

Jeff has experienced the game of baseball at every level, from high school, to Junior College, to major Division-I, through the minor leagues, and finally at the major league level. He has lived the prospective of a player, worked in the front-office of a major league franchise, evaluated players as a professional scout, and coached and recruited student-athletes as a Division-I assistant coach.

As a player, Jeff was not a member of the “lucky-gene” club, and consequently he was forced to learn all the nuances of the game to continue competing at the elite level. Further, Jeff is the son of Scott Pickler, the long-time Head Coach at Cypress Community College in Orange County, California. So, Jeff has seen first-hand, the impact that a true teacher of the game can have on the lives of so many young baseball players.

As an infielder instructor, Jeff strikes a nice balance between focusing on the fundamentals, while still encouraging players to trust their athletic instincts. Jeff’s instruction has helped countless infielders look confident and smooth on the routine play. Further, these players now make the great play seem routine. Most importantly, Jeff has a unique ability to communicate his knowledge with players of all skill levels and backgrounds.
