Parish Advent Penance Service Times: Parishes are asked to please submit your Advent Penance Services/Confession times, before Fri., Nov. 22, using our online submission form, found here (catholicottawa.ca/advent-penance-schedule- request). The final schedule will be published on our website.

College of : Parishes are invited to submit proposals to the College of Consultors for any new projects: construction, renovation, restorations, major acquisitions, property sales, major fundraising campaigns, changes to sacred art or to worship spaces. According to diocesan policy, approval must be obtained from the Archbishop before carrying out these projects, once presented to the College of Consultors. The College is meeting on Tues., Dec. 17, 2019. In order to be included on the College’s agenda, parishes must submit their project proposals to the to [email protected] no later than Fri., Nov. 29, 2019. The proposal should be copied to your Regional , for their input. Proposals to the College should include a completed form found in the College of Consultors 2018 Policy, as well as the following: the nature and cost of the project, including three quotes with price estimates; how the project is to be financed (parish reserve, fundraising or loan). Please note: requests to the Loan Fund for Parishes are up to a maximum of 50% of the project cost; also note that if architectural or engineering plans/designs form part of your submission, these should be provided in PDF format. Apostolic Administrator Appointed for the Ukrainian Catholic of Toronto and Eastern Canada: The Congregation for Eastern Churches announced that His Holiness Francis appointed the Most Reverend Bryan Bayda C.Ss.R., as Apostolic Administrator sede vacante of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada while remaining Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy Saskatoon. The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada has 55 parishes and missions, with a Catholic population of 23,700 served by 62 diocesan priests, three priests and 18 Sisters who are members of institutes of , as well as 16 permanent deacons. The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy Saskatoon has 69 parishes and missions, with a Catholic population of 5,800 served by 19 diocesan priests, seven priests and 15 Sisters who are members of institutes of consecrated life, as well as three permanent deacons. Administrative Assistant / Archdiocese of Ottawa: The Archdiocese of Ottawa is looking for an administrative assistant to strengthen its Francophone pastoral service, who will be responsible for: ensuring the administrative support of the service: call reception, correspondence management, report writing, agenda management, etc.; ensuring that the various databases required for the proper functioning of the service are updated; editing newsletters, brochures and other documents expected; providing support to parishes regarding their various requests for information. Candidate profile: college diploma and/or at least 3 years of experience in administrative support; excellent verbal and writing skills; excellent knowledge of MS Office; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; demonstrates tact and confidentiality; bilingual (English and French) would be an asset. This position is to be filled as soon as possible over 4 days’ work schedule (possibility of changing to 5 days’ work schedule) as part of a maternity leave replacement.
