The Ponderer’s Corner The Judgmental Mind

In today’s shifting world, nothing remains static. From the perceptions we have on things and the expectations we have on people, everything changes, whether we like it or not. When it comes to the issue of our youth nowadays in particular, the difference between what they are and what is expected of them seems to be growing. Addressing the issue of judging people for what they are rather than what they appear to be, even if from a rather limited and personal perspective, is our ponderer for today. Nehemiah Kebreab talks about how our perceptions and beliefs should be shaped in accordance with the world we live in.

Eritrean Camels to faceoff Botswana’s Zebras The United Nations at a crossroads Seventy years have elapsed since the founding of the United Nations with its promise of peace, justice and development for all and in which Member States exert necessary efforts for the common good.

What is the track record and how does the balance sheet look like today in terms of the original aspirations and pronounced commitments?

Eritrea’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Osman Saleh, delivered a critical perspective in this regard at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly. The Foreign Minister did not, clearly, mince his words when he underlined that the United Nations indeed mirrors the prevailing unfair, unequal and undemocratic global order in which the overwhelming majority of Member States are marginalized.

Mr. Osman accordingly urged Member States as well as political and Eritrea will face Botswana at skilled players. Future plans…

I always think of developing my profession. I have the desire to intro- duce something new, especially with my Kirar, in all my performances. With the Kirar I could introduce many different bits. And I want to try that by sticking to our traditional plays, and not deviating away from them.

I’m also planning to organize a big concert in connection with the com- ing New Year. The concert would feature live performances in front of invited guests. I hope it will inspire the youth and contribute its part in the development of our music.

Good luck Shilan!

Thank you very much!
