RICE: Prices were stable except in Tuguegarao City.  In Tuguegarao City, price of regular milled rice was up by P0.50/kg.  Prices of NFA rice prevailed at P25.00/kg except in San Fernando City.

MEAT & POULTRY: Prices moved upward in some trading centers but in Butuan City prices dropped.  Prices of beef lean meat were higher by P10.00/kg and P20.00/kg in Zamboanga and Batangas cities, respectively.  Beef with bones was retailed higher by P10.00/kg in the cities of Iloilo, Cebu and Zamboanga.  In Cebu City, prices of pork products were up by P5.00/kg but in Butuan City, prices were down by P10.00/kg.  Prices of dressed chicken rose by P5.00/kg in Iloilo, Zamboanga and Davao cities and by P10.00/kg in San Fernando City.  Chicken egg was cheaper by P0.05/pc in Butuan City but more expensive by P0.20/pc in Davao City and by P0.50/pc in Iloilo City.

FISH: Upward price movements were noted for alumahan, galunggong and tilapia. Prices of bangus, however, were stable in all trading centers.  Alumahan registered price increases of P10.00/kg in the cities of Legaspi, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro. In Butuan City, a price cut of P20.00/kg was noted.  For galunggong, price increments were P10.00/kg in the cities of Cabanatuan, Legaspi, Naga, Cagayan de Oro and Butuan. Price decrements of P10.00 and P20.00/kg were recorded in Zamboanga and San Fernando cities, respectively.

VEGETABLES: Prices of ampalaya, carrots, habitchuelas and native pechay went down. The rest of the indicator vegetables were quoted higher but the price of red onion remained generally stable.  Habitchuelas indicated price decreases in seven (7) trading centers and these ranged from P2.00/kg in Cebu City to P15.00/kg in Tuguegarao City. In Zamboanga and Baguio cities, however, price increases of P5.00/kg and P20.00/kg were noted, respectively.  Prices of tomato were higher in majority of the trading centers. In San Fernando City, price doubled, from P40.00/kg last week to P80.00/kg this week, due to low supply.

FRUITS  Calamansi prices were up by P10.00/kg in Metro Manila, Baguio and Iloilo cities, by P15.00/kg in Cabanatuan City and by P16.00/kg in Cagayan de Oro City. Prices were stable in the rest of the trading centers.  Prices of mango remained at last week’s levels except in Legaspi City where price softened by P10.00/kg.

OTHER BASIC COMMODITIES  Cooking Oil – Prices were generally stable although, upward price movement of P2.00/bottle was noted in the cities of Batangas and Cebu.  Brown Sugar –Prices rose by P2.00/kg in Metro Manila, San Fernando, Tuguegarao, Cabanatuan, Batangas, Legaspi and Zamboanga cities and by P2.50/kg in Iloilo City.  Refined Sugar – Prices increased by P2.00/kg in Tuguegarao City, by P2.50/kg in Iloilo City, by P4.00/kg in San Fernando, Batangas and Legaspi cities and by P5.00/kg in Zamboanga City.
