Federal Government Where the Department of Environment are currently assessing the Banksia Road proposal and the associated environmental impacts, we can make our biggest impact here as it is the least progressed mining approvals process. 2. State Government Ministers have the power to have both the Banksia Road and Boomerang Road proposals reassessed under Section 43 of the Environmental Protection Act. They also demonstrated the ability to withdraw approvals entirely for ROE8.

Letter #2 State Government Letters seeking referral of both sand mines to the State Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for reassessment, a power held by the Minister for Environment using Section 43 of the EP Act. The Banksia Road mine is not a done deal, approvals were given by the previous State Government (Norman Moore shortly before his retirement).
