This booklet is prepared for the Memory The First Program of Trinity Bible Church and Hillcrest Chapel of Peter in Portland, Oregon. Memory groups will meet weekly to recite each assignment. The booklet contains selected Bible verses - 5 arranged in 15 assignments with seven or eight verses to be memorized each week. The assignment number and Bible reference should be memorized and recited with each assignment.

Those who prefer shorter assignments may memorize the three verses in each assignment which are marked King James Version with the symbol: ~, in this booklet.

There is a companion booklet for small children containing one verse per week. The verses found in the children’s book are marked in this booklet by the symbol: c.

Assignment 7 21 For even hereunto were ye called: 1 Peter 2:18-25 because Christ also suffered for us, 18 leaving us an example, Servants, be subject to your masters that ye should follow his steps: with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, 22 Who did no sin, but also to the froward. neither was guile found in his mouth: 19 For this is thankworthy, 23 ~ Who, when he was reviled, if a man for conscience toward God reviled not again; endure grief, when he suffered, suffering wrongfully. he threatened not; 20 but committed himself to him For what glory is it, if, that judgeth righteously: when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? 24 c~ Who his own self bare our sins but if, when ye do well, in his own body on the tree, and suffer for it, that we, being dead to sins, ye take it patiently, should live unto righteousness: this is acceptable with God. by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 ~ For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. Assignment 13 19 1 Peter 4:15-19 c~ Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God 15 But let none of you commit the keeping of their souls suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, to him in well doing, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody as unto a faithful Creator. in other men’s matters. Chapter 5 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, :1-2 let him not be ashamed; 1 but let him glorify God The elders which are among you on this behalf. Assignment 14 7 ~ Casting all your care upon him; 1 Peter 5:3-9 for he careth for you. 3 8 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, Be sober, be vigilant; but being ensamples to the flock. because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, seeking whom he may devour: ye shall receive a crown of glory 9 that fadeth not away. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions 5 ~ Likewise, ye younger, are accomplished in your brethren submit yourselves unto the elder. that are in the world. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 c~ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Assignment 15 13 The church that is at , 1 Peter 5:10-14 elected together with you, 10 saluteth you; c~ But the God of all grace, and so doth Marcus my son. who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, 14 Greet ye one another after that ye have suffered a while, with a kiss of charity. make you perfect, stablish, Peace be with you all strengthen, settle you. that are in Christ Jesus. 11 Amen. ~ To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
