Responsibilities/Duties: Medical Oncologist - Hematologist, Cross Cancer Institute

The Department of Oncology, CancerControl at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), with is accepting applications for a full-time clinician within the discipline of Hematology and Hematological Malignancies. This position will be based at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) in Edmonton. The position is for three years’ duration with the expectation of transitioning to a permanent position. The successful applicant will join a team of multidisciplinary cancer programs and a team of Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Nurse Practitioners and other medical support staff in the Edmonton and North zones. Responsibilities will include participation in ambulatory clinics for patients with lymphoproliferative disorders, attending duties on the inpatient lymphoma/myeloma/autologous stem cell transplant unit at CCI, and shared participation in a malignant hematology outreach clinic at Grande Prairie Regional Cancer Centre (GPCC). Other responsibilities will include participation in local and provincial tumor team based activities including clinical case reviews at tumor board rounds, annual, provincial tumor team meetings, local quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives. Candidates will have an appointment in the Department of Oncology, , and will be expected to actively participate in clinical research and teaching activities within the Department. CCI, Edmonton and GPCC, Grande Prairie, operate within a provincial framework for cancer care supported by provincial clinical guidelines and standards, focused on patient centered care. CCI is a free- standing integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral centre for Northern Alberta. CCI is a leader in innovative cancer research, prevention, treatment, and care initiatives. This cancer centre sees both in- and out-patients, currently treating over 21,000 patients in one year.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an MD with certification in Hematology and Internal Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Candidates should have additional specialized training and expertise in the area of lymphoproliferative disorders, including lymphomas, multiple myeloma and autologous stem cell transplantation. Remuneration:

CancerControl Alberta, Alberta Health Services offers an attractive compensation, benefits and relocation assistance package. The annual compensation will be calculated in accordance with the CancerControl Alberta Physician compensation grid for Medical Oncologists $318,086.00 - $457,875.00 dependent on qualifications, training and experience.
