In accessing one-on-one case management available at the Day Center, women can also receive housing support via the Coordinated Entry System (CES), through which chronically homeless individuals are connected to permanent housing throughout Los Angeles County.

Health & Wellness We recognize homelessness is a public health crisis, and we take a holistic approach to women’s health and wellness. Our Women’s Health Center, the only women- specific clinic in Skid Row, provides primary care, STD/ HIV testing, TB and cancer screenings, vaccinations, mammograms, women’s exams, and more. We also offer individual therapy, as well as therapist-led and peer-support groups through our Trauma Recovery Center (in partnership with Peace Over Violence). We hold weekly wellness workshops, including our program for preventing and managing diabetes.

Job Readiness & MADE by DWC Our Job Readiness program empowers women to overcome barriers to employment and develop skills needed to succeed. We provide employment counseling and place women in internships and jobs through partnerships with Bloomingdale’s Century City, Evy of California, Groundwork Coffee, The Music Center, and more. Our Learning Center offers courses that include basic literacy and ESL, computer use, resume building, and financial literacy.

Our social enterprise MADE by DWC provides on-site job training at both our Café & Gift Boutique and our Resale Boutique. Through the LA:RISE program, a partnership between REDF and the Department of Labor, we currently employ women at both stores.

Participants also learn to create the handMADE candles, soaps, and other gift items sold at MADE and at retailers including Bloomingdale’s Century City, Raven + Lily, Skirball Cultural Center, and Whole Foods DTLA. SHOP ONLINE TODAY AT MADEBYDWC.ORG!
