Anyone who loves music knows musical trends come and go now with almost frightening regularity. But behind the veil of musical fashion is a set of gears that are as unchanging as the works in a clock… The haunting melody… The baby-if-you-don’t-come-back-life-ain’t-worth-livin’ lyric…The build up to the final chorus… And for at least half a century, every time the dusty winds of change settle, there it stands at center stage: The acoustic guitar. What other instrument so readily morphs to the identity of its player? Soul mate of the lone troubadour… Life of the party ‘round a campfire… Sharply honed weapon of the virtuoso… and on and on. The character of the acoustic guitar is as unbounded as the imagination of the artists who play it. Musical trends may come and go, but the demand for a great acoustic guitar that every-man can afford will never change. The designers and luthiers of Ibanez endeavor to honor the artistic imagination by building instruments that are, at once, both reliable and inspiring.

CHUCK BURGI Drums & Percussion www.chuckburgi.com Chuck Burgi has been performing and recording internationally since teaming up with jazz- rock guitarist Al Di Meola for his first solo venture, theElegant Gypsy Tour. This opportunity led to his joining the English fusion group Brand-X. As a member of Brand-X, he replaced Phil Collins and recorded and toured for the classic album Masques. Returning to his rock and pop roots, Chuck joined Hall and Oates and recorded two platinum albums and did two world tours with the hit writing duo. Subsequent albums with Michael Bolton, Diana Ross, Balance and Bon Jovi followed. He next joined forces with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, recording two albums and hitting the road for another two world tours. After Rainbow, Chuck toured and recorded with various artists including Joe Lynn Turner, Glen Burtnick and the powerhouse vocalist Meat Loaf. Chuck toured extensively with Meat Loaf and recorded the Live at Wembley album. Directly after Meat Loaf, Chuck began working with Blue Oyster Cult, during which time he recorded the Cult Classics and Heaven Forbid albums, and began playing on national TV commercials. After Blue Oyster Cult, he was once again reunited with Ritchie Blackmore for sold out tours of Europe, South America and Japan for the album Stranger in Us All. In 2001, Chuck completed a three-year commitment to the Latin pop sensation Enrique Iglesias. Beginning with an extensive world tour for the album Vivir, he returned as musical director for the Cosas del Amour world tour and finished with a dense schedule of TV shows and concerts promoting Enrique’s first English album, Enrique.

  • Goth the Goth Interface
CinematiC metal & industrial Virtual instrument ProduCt desCriPtion & manual GOTH is a virtual instrument created for use with Native Instruments Kontakt 5. It’s the first VI designed specifically for composers and producers who want to add modern Metal elements to films, movie trailers, television shows, promos, games, and other cinematic-style recording projects. THE GOTH INTERFACE The default front page of the GOTH Graphic User Interface (GUI) is very easy to use - if you don’t need to customize loop notes or rhythms, you can probably do everything you need to do from this page. The front-page controls include eight sliders, as follows: DISTORT adds distortion LOW-FI degrades audio quality LIMITER adds dynamics limiting & increases overall volume BASS adds low end TREBLE adds high end REVERB controls reverb amount FEEDBACK controls number of delay-repeats DELAY controls delay amount There are also two drop-down windows on the front page of the GUI: the upper one is for Reverb and the bottom one for Delay. Click in either window to open up a drop-down menu that allows you to choose one of ten different convolution reverbs, or ten different Delay pre-sets. Beneath the GOTH logo is the TUNE knob; use this to globally adjust the tuning of all loops in a given loop-player, or all samples in an instrument. Used on guitar and bass, this is an easy way to emulate the huge sound of modern Metal drop-tunings. In the lower left-hand corner of every loop-playing module is a tab marked, SLICE EDITOR.
