Cscs Cater to the Floating Population in MP CSCs cater to the floating population in MP For the nationwide Swachh Sundar Samudayik Shauchalaya (SSSS) competition organised under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G), Madhya Pradesh has nominated a) Narsinghpur District, b) Khachrod Block in Ujjain District and c) Chargaon Karbal village in Mohkhed Block of Chindwara District. Organised by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, SSSS is a people’s campaign that supports the construction, painting, and maintenance of community toilets. The purpose is to ensure that toilets are made available in public areas of rural India, particularly for the floating population and migrant labourers. Narsinghpur District: Of the 166 CSCs sanctioned for the district, 70 are complete and are being used regularly. The CSCs in Narsinghpur are constructed close to religious sites and public spaces near the Narmada River, and particularly in ST/SC dominated areas. Operation and maintenance are managed by the Gram Panchayat itself and the system is working well. Khachrod Block, Ujjain District: With a population of 2,50,262, Khachrod Block which is an agricultural and industrial centre is home to 49,917 households. Among the 166 CSCs sanctioned for Ujjain, 70 are complete and 22 of them are situated in Khachrod Block. All of them are being used by the community as well as the floating population. Chargaon Karbal Village, Mohkhed Block, Chindwara District: One of the best panchayats in the district, Chargaon Karbal village with a population of 1,880 was earlier covered by Doordarshan for its quality of work in SBM-G as well as its cleanliness, and operation and maintenance of its facilities. .

The result lead to conclude that the higher and significant linear growth (3.19 %) in production of Gram in the these districts, was due to significantly higher growth (7.64 %) of area followed by better growth in productivity.. The overall compound growth of Gram production in these districts was 3.28 per cent. During the study period acreage of Gram was found negative growth in Narsinghpur and Gunn districts. All other district have positive compound growth rate and significant in most of the districts. Production of Gram increased in all the districts but it was significantly in Jabalpur, Sager, Damoh, Panna, Dewas, Guna, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha and Rajgarh districts. The compound growth rates measure in different districts between 0.67 to 6.23 per cent. The productivity of Gram is static around 1 tones/ha. so there is a big scope to increase production without increase of acreage.
