Scenario:

Born – 1759 Claverack NY. Christened – 1769 – Claverack NY. Married: Mary (Polly) Cain circa 1789. Died in Canada sometime between 1835-40.

Military scenario: (more research pending)

American Revolution Period: This may include two John Hogebooms’ scenario – Sr. and Jr.

1777 – 1783 Loyal American Regiment – Emmerick’s Chasseurs. (prisoners list State of New York) John Hogeboone – of Dutchess County – “prisoner of the rebels 3rd. January 1778, Westchester County”.

Also a John Hogeboom noted as in the King’s Rangers at St. John 1782. (St. John’s NB – St. Johns north of Lake Champlain?)

Also a John Hogeboom noted as (1784) “in Albany Company at age 25 years 6 months “five foot eleven inches” – one year two months service .

Also - John Hogeboom is listed as in Captain Archibald MacLean’s 1st. Leeds Militia, – September to December 1812 and April to (illegible) 1814; also listed on Land Petition of Mary Cain Hogeboom 1835, Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

Ontario Genealogical Society Certificate – “War Of 1812 Society” acquired for John Hogeboom (by Arthur Pegg).

Derrick Hogeboom is the brother of John Hogeboom; and father of Clarey Hogeboom; her mother is Jemima Cain D.U.E. , sister of Mary Cain Hogeboom D.U.E.

4.Private Dorman (Norman) (Doman) DeWolfe: (1st. cousin by marriage four times removed)

Relationship Scenario: Dorman is 1st cousin by marriage four times removed to Arthur Pegg; Dorman married (Clarey Hogeboom – (listed above) - daughter of Derrick Hogeboom and Jemima Cain).

Private Dorman DeWolfe:

Born 1795 in Rutland Vermont USA. Married 1818. Died 1861 Kitley township, ON, CAN.

In War of 1812 for duration. Glengarry Light Infantry .

Scenario for participation in the War Of 1812:

March 1812 – recruiting – Dorman recruited at Kingston by Smyth April 4th 1812 (at about 17 years old). May 1812 – Trois Riviere with Bayne & Battersby

Glengarry Light Infantry involvement includes the following:

Salmon River? Nov 22 1812 1813 – stationed at Cornwall, Prescott, Kingston. 1813- Ft. George May 27, 1813 Sacket’s Harbour May 29, 1813. Dorman in Capt. McMillan’s 4th Co. –candidate for prize money for participation at Fort George. 1813 –at York (winter in Kingston and in York). 1813 – at Kingston “for 1st Company.

1814-Glengarries stationed at Kingston 1814- Chippawa July 5th 1814- entire battalion at York. 1814- Lundy’s Lane 1814 – Fort Erie, Chippawa, etc. for duration of campaign.

1815 – March 24, 1815 Dorman DeWolfe was discharged with Land Grant.

Post War: received 100 acres of land for military service.

1828-29 – Dorman DeWolfe in 4th Regiment, Leeds Militia at age 34. (further research pending)

Note: Father of Dorman: Bethuel DeWolfe UEL - listed on War of 1812 paylists (pending).

Battle of the Windmill, Prescott, , etc. Aurora DeWolfe, ? ……..Patterson?...... et. al - in 3rd. Co. Leeds Embodied Militia 1838. Stationed at Brockville – “on the landing of the Rebels” signed Nov 12, 1838. (research pending).
