Topic: “A SYNTHETIC APPROACH TO GEODIAMOLIDES A & B”
In the beginning of the research career at Mangalore University, natural products synthesis was concentrated. Later in Mysore University the research interest was shifted to Atmospheric Chemistry, biodegradation of pesticides and fertilizers, solid waste management studies, water /soil pollution, Newer methods of removing the metal ions and dyes, Adsorption studies for controlling the environmental pollution, using natural adsorbants, harnessing the solar energy using Photovoltaic cells, with synthetic and biological activity studies on heterocyclic compounds were concentrated. More than fifty theses were evaluated for Ph.D. degree of other Universities/Institutions along with one D.Sc thesis of Sambalpur University, Odisha.

11. Administrative Experience: Total 13 years as Head of DOS in Environmental Science, University of Mysuru, Mysuru-6. Worked as Co-ordinator, DOS in Environmental Science, University of Mysuru, Mysuru-6, since Oct. 1999 to October 2008. From November 2008 onwards, worked as a Chairman, DOS in Environmental Science, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysuru-6 upto 27.01.2011. Once again from 30.01.2013 to 28.01.2015 worked as Chairman, DOS in Env. Science, MGM-6. Also held the Chairmanship of BOS, BOE. Previously worked as a member of the Academic Council, University 5 of Mysuru, Mysuru-5 for two years. At present holding the position of Academic Council Membership since 2017. Chairman of BOA for Mysuru University, other Universities & institutions including NCERT, CFTRI etc., Member & Chairman of Local inspection committee for the colleges. Did the confidential works for UGC, UPSC, Orissa Public Service Commission and also Member of UGC assessment committees.

13. Extension Activities: Under my leadership, the Environmental Science department of Mysore University got the new building (U-shape), laboratories were equipped, teaching staff members were recruited. The teachers were motivated to write the research projects and all of them hold the projects. A lot of M.Sc. & Ph.D candidates have got the jobs and a few have gone abroad for jobs as well as for higher studies. Many students cleared NET examination conducted by UGC, New Delhi and SLET examination conducted by University of Mysore Two national level seminars, one day work-shop were conducted in the department with myself as the convener. i. Environmental Hazards-priorities and protection in the 21st century (2nd & 3rd March 2001) ii. Current Trends in Environmental Science & Sustainable Development (27th & 28th February 2009) iii.
