Welcome to Saint Barnabas Church Founded in 1869, Saint Barnabas is a Roman Catholic parish of the Ordinariate of the Chair of . The Ordinariate was established in 2012 by Benedict XVI in order to preserve elements of the Anglican tradition within the . The parish entered the Catholic Church in 2013. Mass is celebrated using Divine Worship, the Vatican- promulgated Missal also known as the Ordinariate or Anglican Use liturgy. All Catholics may fulfill their Mass obligation on Sundays and holydays at Saint Barnabas. Catholics in full communion with the Holy See of may receive Holy Communion at our Masses.  PRECAUTIONS AT MASS The Sunday Mass obligation remains suspended, and all those who are at risk of infection are encouraged to remain at home. Those who do attend Mass are expected to maintain social distancing, especially in the pews and at the communion rail, and to make use of the hand sanitizer available at each entrance. Attendants are also encouraged to wear masks. Holy Communion is distributed at the rail immediately after Mass, allowing the celebrant to wash his hands before distributing the Sacrament, which will be in the form of the Sacred Host only. Sunday High Mass and Evensong will continue to be livestreamed on the parish YouTube channel and Facebook page.

 CONFESSIONS Saturday confessions are heard in the Lady Chapel, for one hour, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Confessions are also heard on Sunday morning at 10:00 am until about 10:20 am, and by appointment. The open gate to the Lady Chapel indicates that Father is in the chapel behind the screen. Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance to the chapel.

 SAINT BARNABAS ACADEMY OPEN HOUSE JULY 9 On Thursday, July 9, from 7 pm to 8 pm in the undercroft, there will be an open house for anyone interested in learning more about Saint Barnabas Academy as we prepare to open our doors this Fall. Meet this year's teaching staff, tour our facilities, meet parents and students, and learn about the classical, Catholic education offered at Saint Barnabas Classical Academy. All are welcome.

 SUMMER SEMINARIAN IN JULY This month, Saint Barnabas is hosting a seminarian as part of his summer assignment. Roberto Brunel is a seminarian for the Ordinariate who has just completed his first year of theology in Rome, in formation at the Pontifical North American College and studying at the Gregorian University. He is now in residence at the parish house and will undertake various duties around the parish under Father Catania's supervision. Please be sure to welcome Roberto to Saint Barnabas and to Omaha.

 BISHOP LOPES TO VISIT JULY 12 Our Ordinary, Bishop Lopes of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, will visit Saint Barnabas on Sunday, July 12. He will celebrate the 10:30 am Mass and preach. Depending on what restrictions remain in effect at that point, the Mass will be followed by some type of reception, likely outdoors. The bishop will also preside at Evensong that afternoon..

 SINGERS NEEDED Anyone interested in volunteering to sing in the parish choir is asked to contact organist and choirmaster Mr. Jeff Hoffman. Male singers are especially needed at this time, as the men's chant ensemble will continue providing music at High Mass until restrictions due to COVID- 19 are further relaxed.

 SACRAMENTAL AND PASTORAL CARE Please contact the parish office for individual appointments for confession, anointing of the sick, and reception of Holy Communion. Home blessings are also available, using the Easter Water blessed on Holy Saturday. Those who are not yet prepared to participate in the public celebration of Mass are especially encouraged to make arrangements to receive Holy Communion, either in their homes or at the parish house, with all necessary precautions observed.
