Columbia SCX 6157 Stereo, 5 Agosto 1967) (Columbia SX 6157 Mono) Album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (Columbia SCX 6157 stereo, 5 agosto 1967) (Columbia SX 6157 mono) Astronomy Domine` - Lucifer Sam - Matilda Mother - Flaming - Pow R. Toc H. - Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk - Interstellar Overdrive - The Gnome - Chapter 24 - The Scarecrow - Bike La versione stereo di questo disco differisce da quella mono nel missaggio dei pezzi. Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk - The Gnome - Chapter 24 - The Scarecrow - Bike. I pezzi del disco vennero registrati varie volte e in occasioni diverse: Astronomy Domine`: 11/4/1967 (2 prove), 17/4/1967 (1), 18/4/1967 (1), 5/7/1967 (1); Lucifer Sam: 11/4/1967 (1 prova con il titolo provvisorio di Percy The Ratcatcher), 18/4/1967 (1),1/6/1967 (1), 5/7/1967 (1); Matilda Mother: 21/2/1967 (1 prova negli studi Sound Techniques di Chelsea), 23/2/1967 (1), 29/6/1967; Pow R. Toc H.: 20/3/1967 (1), 21/3/1967 (1), 19/3/1967 (1); Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk: 20/3/1967 (2), 29/3/1967 (1); Interstellar Overdrive: 27/2/1967 (al Sound Techniques studio di Chelsea), 1/3/1967 (1), 15/3/1967 (1), 16/3/1967 (1), 22/3/1967 (1), 18/4/1967 (in un pezzo intitolato Crossfades With Interstellar Overdrive And The Bike Song); The Gnome: 20/3/1967, 29/3/1967; Chapter 24: 27/2/1967, 1/3/1967, 15/3/1967, 5/6/1967; The Scarecrow: 20/3/1967, 29/3/1967; Bike: 18/4/1967 (nella versione missata con Interstellar Overdrive), 21/5/1967 (intitolata ancora The Bike Song), 1/6/1967, 29/6/1967, 3/7/1967. See Emily Play - Pow R. Toc H. - Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk - Lucifer Sam - Matilda Mother - The Scarecrow - The Gnome - Chapter 24 - Interstellar Overdrive. A Saucerful Of Secrets (Columbia SCX 6258 stereo, 29 giugno 1968) (Columbia SX 6258 mono) Let There Be More Light - Remember A Day - Set The Control For The Heart Of The Sun - Corporal Clegg - A Saucerful Of Secrets - See-Saw - Jugband Blues Come per il primo album, anche la versione stereo di questo disco differisce da quella mono riguardo al missaggio dei pezzi.

  • 1 Gutta Percha Willie
1 GUTTA PERCHA WILLIE: THE WORKING GENIUS BY GEORGE MACDONALD CHAPTER I. WHO HE WAS AND WHERE HE WAS. When he had been at school for about three weeks, the boys called him Six-fingered Jack; but his real name was Willie, for his father and mother gave it him—not William, but Willie, after a brother of his father, who died young, and had always been called Willie. His name in full was Willie Macmichael. It was generally pronounced Macmickle, which was, by a learned anthropologist, for certain reasons about to appear in this history, supposed to have been the original form of the name, dignified in the course of time into Macmichael. It was his own father, however, who gave him the name of Gutta-Percha Willie, the reason of which will also show itself by and by. Mr Macmichael was a country doctor, living in a small village in a thinly- peopled country; the first result of which was that he had very hard work, for he had often to ride many miles to see a patient, and that not unfrequently in the middle of the night; and the second that, for this hard work, he had very little pay, for a thinly-peopled country is generally a poor country, and those who live in it are poor also, and cannot spend much even upon their health. But the doctor not only preferred a country life, although he would have been glad to have richer patients, and within less distances of each other, but he would say to any one who expressed surprise that, with his reputation, he should remain where he was—"What's to become of my little flock if I go away, for there are very few doctors of my experience who would feel inclined to come and undertake my work.

The high P-value means that we lack µµ− evidence of a difference, so 0 is a possible value for Meat Beef . 3. Dogs and fat. µµ− a) Plausible values for Meat Beef are all negative, so the mean fat content is probably higher for beef hot dogs. b) The fact that the confidence interval does not contain 0 indicates that the difference is significant. c) The corresponding alpha level is 10%. 4. Washers. µµ− a) Plausible values for Top Front are all negative, so the mean cycle time is probably higher for front loading machines. b) The fact that the confidence interval does not contain 0 indicates that the difference is significant. c) The corresponding alpha level is 2%. 5. • How to Build up Your Professional Wardrobe
How to Build Up Your Professional Wardrobe Written by Cooke Scholar Emily Zaretzky Sometimes the question ‘What should I wear?’ weighs more heavily than others. For situations that surround your career, clothing is an important part in portraying yourself. With so many options of what to wear, how do you even start building a wardrobe that can help you during your career? Start with the basics. A two-piece pant or skirt-suit is the most essential basic for all genders; men should also have a nice tie or bowtie on hand as well. The classic jacket and pants combo provides a set that can be tailored for almost every business occasion; if the situation is more casual, the jacket doesn’t have to be worn. To pair with the suit, a few solid color blouses or button- downs should be added to provide more options. A pair of khakis or trousers can be added to provide even more versatility. A nice pair of stylish and comfortable dress shoes should be added to the mix. What makes these basic pieces essential is their ability to be worn in almost every occasion. It is important to buy basic pieces with great quality, fit, and color. The basics should be thought of as an investment; and remember, quality ensures that the pieces will last a long time and can be relied on. The fit should be appropriate; too tight and it can look unprofessional, but too big could look sloppy. Colors should be neutral. Blacks, navy blues, and greys are always good to have around because they can be paired with almost anything.

  • Pietro Aaron on Musica Plana: a Translation and Commentary on Book I of the Libri Tres De Institutione Harmonica (1516)
Pietro Aaron on musica plana: A Translation and Commentary on Book I of the Libri tres de institutione harmonica (1516) Dissertation Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Matthew Joseph Bester, B.A., M.A. Graduate Program in Music The Ohio State University 2013 Dissertation Committee: Graeme M. Boone, Advisor Charles Atkinson Burdette Green Copyright by Matthew Joseph Bester 2013 Abstract Historians of music theory long have recognized the importance of the sixteenth- century Florentine theorist Pietro Aaron for his influential vernacular treatises on practical matters concerning polyphony, most notably his Toscanello in musica (Venice, 1523) and his Trattato della natura et cognitione de tutti gli tuoni di canto figurato (Venice, 1525). Less often discussed is Aaron’s treatment of plainsong, the most complete statement of which occurs in the opening book of his first published treatise, the Libri tres de institutione harmonica (Bologna, 1516). The present dissertation aims to assess and contextualize Aaron’s perspective on the subject with a translation and commentary on the first book of the De institutione harmonica. The extensive commentary endeavors to situate Aaron’s treatment of plainsong more concretely within the history of music theory, with particular focus on some of the most prominent treatises that were circulating in the decades prior to the publication of the De institutione harmonica. This includes works by such well-known theorists as Marchetto da Padova, Johannes Tinctoris, and Franchinus Gaffurius, but equally significant are certain lesser-known practical works on the topic of plainsong from around the turn of the century, some of which are in the vernacular Italian, including Bonaventura da Brescia’s Breviloquium musicale (1497), the anonymous Compendium musices (1499), and the anonymous Quaestiones et solutiones (c.1500).

If you have the slightest interest in Pink Floyd, do not miss this group when they return to larger venues later this year. You won’t even need acid to blow your mind.” ✭✮✮✮✮ Michael Hann, Financial Times “The sound was immense, electrifying, galvanising, mesmerising and still deeply strange, bending the formats of primal rock into all kind of weird and wonderful shapes. From the warped garage rock opening of Interstellar Overdrive, Astronomy Domine and Lucifer Sam to the closing proto-shoe gaze blitz of One of These Days and bent musical hall wackiness of Point Me at the Sky, it was a set of such startling intensity it seemed to mock the very notion of nostalgia. It was enough to make you wonder whether rock has progressed very far at all since the Sixties. ✭✮✮✮ Neil McCormick, The Daily Telegraph T: @nickmasondrums / FB:www.facebook.com/NickMasonDrums T: @pinkfloyd / FB:www.facebook.com/pinkfloyd www.pinkfloyd.com For images please go to http://bit.ly/2JMteyE 25 May, 2018 - Following four intimate and acclaimed live shows at London’s Dingwalls (20 May) and The Half Moon in Putney (21, 23 and 24 May), Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets will be touring their unique live show of early Pink Floyd across Europe, including six shows in the UK.

  • Unit 1 – Something That Doesn't Exist
Name: Date: Unit 1 – Something That Doesn’t Exist alternate / bland / convert / intense / navigate / pedestrian / require / retire / revert / sparse 1A Introduction Have you ever invented anything? You might have some idea that being an inventor means wearing a white lab coat and spending time tinkering with something in a dusty basement. But that’s not true at all. The power of invention is in all of us. As Robert Kennedy once famously said, “There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask ‘why?’...I dream of things that never were, and ask ‘why not?’” 1B Song Lyrics Think of something that just doesn’t exist and say, “Why not?” Why not? Think of something that just doesn’t exist and say, “Why not?” Why not? (x2) All the things that you use on the daily, Didn’t always exist; man, it’s crazy. Like someone once invented a shoe, Invented a cup, invented some glue. One day some dude taking a stroll with a scroll, Thought, “Having one long page gets in the way, I’m like a ship that’s lost, can’t navigate, Can’t find my favorite passage on the page.” So he thought for a minute, took a long look, Then that dude invented the book! And you can do it too; your mind’s free, Just think, “What do kids require and need?” When you make that thing, you’ll find fame, And if it becomes big then you’ll get paid. Like I was drinking a soda; it was kind of bland, The taste wasn’t strong, then I hatched a plan.
