As part of its mission to reduce fatalities and injuries, since model year 2001 NHTSA has included rollover information as part of its NCAP ratings. One of the primary means of assessing rollover risk is the static stability factor (SSF), a measurement of a vehicle’s resistance to rollover. The higher the SSF, the lower the rollover risk. -

The G T O Tiger Times the Voice of the G T O and Pontiac Enthusiast in Central Pennsylvania
May 2019 Volume 24 Issue 5 The G T O Tiger Times The Voice of the G T O and Pontiac Enthusiast in Central Pennsylvania like the early days before so many restoration parts President ’s Corner were available, you must go out and find what you need to keep these things going! Don ’t forget we have a bunch of events on tap. April 27 th , 2009. A day that will live in Pontiac Please let us know if you plan to attend the factory infamy. Pontiac ’s official last day. Sometimes it can tour at R.E.M. in a few weeks! be difficult to come up with topics to write about every month, and sometimes things just fall in your lap. This week while scrolling through Facebook I Brian was reminded of this ominous anniversary, and it hit me that it has already been 10 years since the last Pontiac rolled off the line and the brand ceased to exist. My how time flies! So far it seems that the Pontiac spirit is still alive even with no support from the mother ship GM. It ’s now up to us the enthusiasts to keep the legend alive, and that is where we come in. As one of the many active clubs out there, we need to be out there giving history lessons at car shows and cruise -ins. The next generation may never know such a brand existed, just as many kids today have never seen a car with a cassette deck (much less an 8 track!), crank windows, manual seats, or even manual transmissions with that extra pedal on the left! If a younger person shows interest in the hobby, take the time to talk to them! They will never get involved if we don ’t take the time to teach them how cool the Pontiac brand was, and still is! Even the newer cars will feel the pinch of Pontiac being downsized. -
Pontiac Cars 1931-1988
Pontiac Cars Stop Engine Heat at the Source 1931-1988 Made Right - To Fit Right -- To Stop Engine Heat Your first line of defense against engine noise, vibration and heat is the Firewall Insulator panel--it is the bar- rier between the engine bay and the passenger cabin. Quiet Ride Firewall Insulators fit like a glove because they match the contours of the stock steel firewall. There are no gaps to allow noise and heat to move into the passenger cabin. All of our firewall insulator panels are manufactured from original panels that customers have allowed us to use over the last 30 years. Each panel is molded from a leather-grained ABS material and vacuum formed from our own molds to exact OEM factory specifications. Trim welts and rubber carpet skirts are sewn as required. A neoprene rubber is used for late model vehicles to meet factory specifications. Custom Firewalls* Restoration Firewalls* If you are building a “restomod” or custom vehicle, any of our Firewalls are cut and punched with standard factory holes and are firewall insulator products can be ordered with Heat Shield shipped ready-to-install with the appropriate “period” insulation insulation and without holes for that “smooth” look. Custom attached. Save and reuse your original mounting pins. firewall panels can be installed with contact adhesive or by us- Universal pins are available should you need them. ing our Street Rod Firewall Mounting Pin Kit. *Technical Note: If you have changed the OEM firewall (aside from welding up the mounting and equipment pass-through holes) you may have to look for alternative solutions. -
