Colville Park AFC remained members of the LAFA for some 20 years going on to win several domestic honours with that Association. The major achievement of that era was winning the Scottish Amateur Cup in season 1975/6. In season 1990/91, Colville Park moved to the Central Scottish AFL, and are now well- established in the Premier Division of that League. Several domestic honours have been achieved, including the Cinema Cup, McAvoy McIntyre Trophy, League Cup, First Division Championship and Premier Division Championship. At National level, in the West of Scotland Amateur Cup, Colville Park were beaten finalists in 2009/10 and in 2011/12 losing out to Harestanes and Dumbarton Academy respectively. In 2013 Colville Park eventually won the trophy defeating Hurlford Thistle 2 – 0 in a closely-contested final at New Douglas Park, Hamilton. Colville Park returned to the same venue to contest the 2015 Final but again lost out 1 – 2 to Central Scottish afl rivals Greenock HSFP. In the Scottish Amateur Cup Colville Park have an excellent track record having reached the semi-final stage 7 times in the last 8 seasons, and contesting 3 consecutive finals in 2012/13/14, unfortunately losing out on all three occasions. It was a relief to finally achieve success last season when the competition returned to its rightful “home” at Hampden where Colville Park defeated Leven United 2 – 1 in an exciting and very competitive match. That success brought an added bonus of entry to this season’s William Hill sponsored Scottish Cup where Colville Park defeated Edusport FC in the first preliminary round but were narrowly defeated 0 – 1 by Girvan Juniors in the next round. Colville Park’s management structure changed last season with Michael Kennedy taking over the managerial reins from the experienced campaigner Gerry Hamilton, although Gerry is still involved in the background and carries out a number of vital roles in the club. Michael has a wealth of experience as a player and former Internationalist, and he has been ably-supported by Stephen Boyack whose senior experience and coaching abilities have added greatly to the strength of the new management team. Strong backroom support is also provided by Scott Duncan, Willie Hutton, Barry Phinn, Stephen Fleming (Physio), Glen Carroll (Physio), Andy Williamson (Secretary), Joe Walker (Treasurer), John Fallon, Reg Brown, Ricky Peebles, Craig Speirs & Maxie Weymss.

  • History of the Queen's Park FC
HISTORY OF THE QUEEN'S PARK FOOTBALL CLUB 1867 - 1917 By Richard Robinson (1920) PREFACE "While appreciating the signal honour of the committee of the Queen's Park F.C. in asking me to write the history of the club, I would mention that I was very reluctant to undertake such a responsibility, and it was only on the solicitations of personal friends that I eventually consented. Sensible of my literary limitations, these, however, while always uppermost, seemed to lose their terror the more my researches were prosecuted; and if the work may not be as worthy as the engrossing character of the subject deserves, it, at all events, has the merit, if it can claim no other, of being a faithful record of the great and imposing part which the Queen's Park F.C. has played in moulding the history of what is universally acknowledged to be the most democratic of our national sports. "Two courses were at least open to me. One was to deal chronologically with events, making the labours of each season stand by themselves; the other, which was ultimately adopted, was to treat in chapter form the more outstanding incidents and results in the practical operations of the club, as well as its legislative and administrative activities. Possibly the former would have been the more interesting; but the latter, in its historical presentment, provides a wealth of information which should be highly useful, if only for purposes of reference. "It is impossible to give the names of all who have so generously come to my help in supplying incidents and documents of much interest and value; but I cannot omit to mention Mr.
