On January 23, in Charlotte’s win over Florida Atlantic, Young went 13-for- 16 from the charity stripe. 2020-21 GAME NOTES NEAR RECORD FREE THROWS - Charlotte went 34-for-42 from the free throw line in the road win at Florida Atlantic (Jan. 23). Charlotte’s 34 free throws made tied for the second most free throws made in a game in the program’s history. Charlotte connected on 34 free throws at Tennessee Tech (Dec. 1, 1970). Jahmir Young went 13-for-16 from the line which is tied for the ninth most free throws made and attempted in the program’s history. Charlotte ranks fifth in Conference USA in free throw percentage, shooting 72.9 percent as a team from the line. OVERTIME – Charlotte has played five overtime games this season. The 49ers played a school-record seven overtime games in the 2014-15 season. Charlotte is 34-49 all-time in overtime games. SHEPHERD AND YOUNG SCORING – Jordan Shepherd and Jahmir Young have scored in double-figures in the same game 34 times in their careers. CONFERENCE USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Jahmir Young was named C-USA Player of the Week three times this sea- son (Dec. 21, Jan. 4 and Feb. 1). He earned Conference USA Co-Player of the Week honors (Dec. 21) after averaging 22.5 points, 6 re- bounds and 2.5 assists in the 49ers wins over Davidson and North Carolina A&T. He earned his second C-USA Co-Player of the Week award (Jan. 4) when he averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the 49ers two games against WKU. Young was named Conference USA Player of the Week (Feb. 1) when he averaged 23.5 points and eight rebounds in the 49ers two wins over FIU. Young is the 11th different Niner to be named Conference USA Player of the Week in the program’s history. Young joins Eddie Basden (2004-05) and Sean Colson (1997-98) as Niners that were named C-USA Player of the Week three times in a season. FOUR IN DOUBLE-FIGURES- The 49ers have had nine games this season where at least four players have scored in double-digits. A season-high five Niners scored in double-figures in Charlotte’s 78-40 win over South Carolina State (Dec. 7). Four players scored in double-figures against: WKU (Jan. 2), Belmont Abbey (Jan. 9), FIU (Jan. 30), both games at Middle Tennessee (Feb. 5-6), Old Dominion (2/10) and both games at Marshall (Mar 5-6). REBOUNDS - Charlotte’s 46 rebounds in the 63-55 overtime win over FIU (Jan. 29) marked the most rebounds by the Niners in a game since grabbing 46 boards at East Carolina, December 18, 2017. Eight Charlotte players secured at least one rebound in the win over FIU. ASSISTS - Charlotte dished out 20 assists in their 68-65 win over FIU (Jan. 30). This marked the second time this season the 49ers recorded at least 20 assists in a game, Charlotte dished out a season-high 21 assists in a win over South Carolina State (Dec. 7). In the program’s history, the 49ers have dished out at least 20 assists in a game 183 times. BLISTERING SECOND HALF SHOOTING - For the second time this season, the 49ers shot over 70 percent in a half when they shot a blistering 72.2 percent (13-for-18) from the field in the second half in their win over UAB (Jan. 16). Earlier this season, Charlotte shot 70.8 percent (17-for-24) from the field in the second half in their win over North Carolina A&T (Dec. 19). The last time the 49ers enjoyed that type of shooting performance in a half prior to this season was in the second half of Charlotte’s win over Rice (Feb.
