At Summer Camp, it is our aim to run a high quality program that is not only safe, but provides opportunities for children to have fun, be active, enhance education, explore new interests, and build relationships. For our returning families, welcome back! We want to thank you for continuing to choose the Y as the program to serve you and your family. To our new families, we want to welcome you to what we hope will be the first of many years together. Camps do fill up and we recommend you sign up early, and pay non-refundable, non-transferrable $10 deposits for each camp week you know your child will be attending in order to reserve a spot. There is a one-time $35 registration fee for most camps due at the time of registration. The balance for each week will be due the Wednesday before camp week begins which is also when registration closes. You can choose to register online at www.wilmingtonfamilyymca.org or you may choose to register in person at our Membership Desk located at the Express Y at 11 S. Kerr Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403. The Membership Desk is open Monday through Thursday from 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M., Fridays from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Saturdays from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., and Sundays from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Campers will enjoy activities organized around weekly themes including games, sports, participation in swim lessons twice a week, camp songs, arts and crafts, story time and more. With a 1:7 staff to camper ratio, we emphasize a hands-on learning curriculum, motor skill development and creativity as we strive to provide an environment for preschoolers to learn, gain self-confidence, make new friends, and respect others.     Sport Administration 1st Year Students 2012-2013 Allison Bass, BBA Originally from Miami, Florida, Allison received her undergraduate degree in Marketing at the University of Georgia. During her undergraduate career, she served as the head timer for UGA’s swim team and helped facilitate many athletic events by volunteer in the Athletic Association Event Management Office. Additionally, she interned in the marketing department of the NHL franchise the Florida Panthers during the summer of 2009. Upon graduation, Allison spent two years interning with the Event Management Department of the University of Georgia’s Athletic Association. During her time there, she worked as a game day manager for all varsity sports, and served as the lead game manager for swimming and diving, softball, and equestrian. Additionally, Allison helped coordinate various SEC and NCAA championship events including the 2011 SEC Track and Field Championship, and the 2012 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championship. Peter Chalfin, BA Originally from Niskayuna, New York, Peter graduated from Penn State University in 2008 with a degree in journalism and minors in kinesiology and psychology. At Penn State, Pete pitched for the Penn State Baseball Club, which led to his first full-time job with the National Club Baseball Association. For the first three years with the NCBA, Pete worked in the marketing department as the Sponsor Account Manager before being promoted to Director of Baseball Operations. Pete also has experience as a pitching coach and is currently working with the UNC Club Baseball team in that role. John Dougherty, BA John is a first year student and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill where he received a BA in Journalism and Environmental Studies and also received a certificate in sports communication.
