uscanyCASTLES, CHIANTI Wal & CLASSIC COUNTRYSIDE

September 5 to 17, 2011

a program of the stanford alumni association I must say this is one of my absolute favorite Travel/Study trips. Traveling through the Tuscan countryside on foot is an utterly enchanting experience that’s completely different from that of most visitors to the region. Meander from one medieval hilltown to the next, walking along winding country roads through rolling hills dotted with olive groves and vineyards. Along the way chat with farmers whose families have tilled these lands for generations and savor midday picnics featuring local meats, cheeses and wines. Our fall departure lets you enjoy cooler walking temperatures and witness the vendemmia, or harvest, of the luscious grapes that make the region’s wine world-famous. Come join us!
