Cherrymoon Trax were a conglomerate of many different artists over the years, with each contributing their own unique flavour to the sound. As the story goes, the resident DJ’s at the infamous Chery Moon club were tasked with creating an anthem for the club, the result was The House Of House. Amidst the deep rumbling basslines and driving beats, a raspy vocal proclaims those iconic lyrics that have resonated through many many tracks since. Rave style synths are morphed into a hypnotic, instantly recognisable hook alongside an infectious cascading arpeggio note. On the flip we find Let There Be B1 House which also became an instant classic having been originally released around the same time as the former. We are happy to have A1 him on board to deliver our 10th vinyl release. The Brit has a career that spans over two decades, and he currently heads his own label [d]-tached, while co-promoting Cambridge-based electro night Motherchip A2 Connexion. The 4-track project kicks off with EP title sharing doozy "Alopex". The cut has an underlying dub sound and snappy claps and hits. A futuristic synth comes in that sounds like an emotional robot. It progresses nicely, with a broad range of elements including modulated toms and cymbals, before flipping B1 into a revolving melody and fleeting flicks. It is followed up with "CN2", and you can feel from the get-go a track with a little more Tabasco sauce. It has a bit more energy and that gutter sound, which is very B2 prevalent. Again, the piece has those snappy electro hits and has this mischievous synth oscillating in the background. The main squeeze here though is the gutter. Things seem to lighten up with "GeneRec" as it is B3 introduced with an ethereal synth with some deep chords. Elements gradually get introduced as a bit more pace is added with the hats

A1 2 years ago the track "Still Numbers" on Ekin Fil's album Heavy caught the attention of a certain Richard D. James, who under his 'user18081971' username reposted the track to his now historic Soundcloud dump. A2 This is also how Ekin's work initially caught the labels attention; at first listen it sounded like a unearthed Grouper demo, a parallel that can be drawn respectfully, seeing Ekin's trade marks are also those forlorn, A3 muffled vocal whispers, layered under sentimental tape loops, paired with ambiance and feedback. The A4 album itself was originally produced in 5 years ago during what Ekin Fil recalls as a down right depressing and tumultuous time during which she turned to music as a measure of rehabilitation. Heavy was later B1 released on tape via Lee Nobles' No Kings label in 2016 and remastered in 2018 from the tape rips by B2 Rashad Backer, preserving the fragile and heavy hearted auditory sensibility found in the original work, while making one of Ekin's earliest and most personally endearing releases available to a new audience B3 of listeners

TECH-HOUSE RE-STOCK HRV UK producer Allen Saei aka Aubrey is no stranger to Burek family, having already remixed Information A1 Ghetto's "Inspiration" track for Burek in 2013 and DJ Stingray's "Communication System" track released on Barba in 2015. As is to be expected from a guy who's been spending time in the studio for better part of the last three decades, on 13th Barba release Aubrey delivers a mature and consistent space-themed A2 club 12" titled "Space Funk". Although pretty self-referential as a whole, each track on the 12" offers a different take on the topic. "Clock Funk" and "Space Jazz" are quite direct and peak time, "Spaceship B1 Blues" is a chunky funk workout and "Path To Nowhere" is somewhat deeper introspective piece. Common thread moving through all four cuts is an infectious groove intertwined with synth lines that would not be misplaced amongst the best examples of space-influenced techno music firmly grounded on the floor but B2 with eyes on the future. Roman producer (and a force behind MinimalRome label) Valerio Lombardozzi known as Heinrich Dressel A1 returns to Barba with a second release for our label, titled "The Styx Swamp". Heinrich has a unique way of combining classic techno and electro sounds with elements from the beloved Drexcyan universe and John Carpenter leitmotifs, and making them come together in a manner that both moves your body and A2 pushes your mind beyond the point of awareness. As with the previous record, "Lurking Underwater", here he pulls off the move with the same efficiency and without sounding like he's repeating himself. "Gray Slope", "Sailing The Nether Waterways" and "The Styx Swamp" are all quite moody and deep, rich with B1 sound and thick with vibe. However, the tracks feel equally at home in 4 am techno situation and a heady afterhours affair. He truly is a master of crafting hybrids whose influences get so flawlessly embedded that it's hard to point them out. A1 Selva Discos returns to the LP reissue game with a bang – by giving a new life to the stunning and very A2 sought-after Memória das Águas album by Fernando Falcão. Originally recorded in 1979 in Paris but only released independently in Brazil in 1981, the album comes complete with genre-hopping explorations that A3 swirl around ambient soundscapes, lively jazz, experimental-leanings, Afro-rhythms and a unique blend of A4 Latin grooves and French pop with a Brazilian accent, but it also comes with a story as deeply unique as the music. To make a long story short, after participating in the political movements against the military B1 regime in 1968 in Brazil, Fernando Falcão left the country and moved to France, where he lived in exile for B2 15 years. There, after working in music, acting, and sculpting, he involved himself in Jérôme Savary's legendary Grand Magic Circus, where he met his first wife, Valérie Kling. It was from this relationship that a B3 partnership began between the musician and his father-in-law, the artist François-Xavier Lalanne, who B4 guided Falcão in the process of inventing sound sculptures such as the balauê

What style of piano does Elmo Hope play? It would be easy to answer "The same as Bud Powell," but this would not do justice to a musician who, while A3 coming along the same route as Bud for so many years, is now ploughing a separate path for himself, A4 though in a similar general neighborhood. His original material, though it has the intense, rapt quality of B1 Bud's, remains personal, whether it be the relatively serene approach of Happy Hour or the minor B2 Moroccan mood of Stars Over Marakech. When you hear Elmo Hope, your first reaction will quite possibly be "Well, where has he been all these years?" And the fact is that while Elmo was giving recitals at the age B3 of 14 and even won medals during his teen-aged concertizing, he has never, until now, achieved much B4 more than local recognition.
