UNIVERSITY STUDENT SUPPORT UPDATE / TASC
I- INTRODUCTION/CONTEXT
Receiving this scholarship support is very important for the 10 beneficiary students. They all come from vulnerable families in the Ambalavao district. Without this project support they could never have continued their university studies and would not be able to realize their dream in the future. They know that studying at university is not easy. All of them have problems with French and computing. During the COVID-19 crisis, some of them did studies on-line.
The 10 students with their waterproofs provide by TASC.
II- STUDENTS’ NEWS
1) NAME: FIDERANTSOA Melie Esther
AGE: 19 years old

The exams for the first and second terms were completed. She sat the second session in the first semester. For exams during the second term, she did 5 subjects per group and 2 in class. She is waiting
1 for the result and plans to do remedial classes if necessary. In the meantime, the COVID-19 pandemic arrived so the university is closed. Her mother died on the 10th April 2020 due to diabetes.

AGE: 22 years old

She was waiting for the first and second term result when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived. So now, she is doing remedial exams on-line. For her university studies is not easy.
3) NAME: SAUNIA Mamitiana Samuel
AGE: 21 years old

UNIVERSITY: ANDRAINJATO FIANARANTSOA, ENS (Ecole Normale Supérieur) for future teachers SUBJECT: Physics, Science and Technology (1st year of undergraduate, L1)
His classes were finished; they held a study circle during a university strike. Now they do exams on-line due to Coronavirus. The computer is very helpful now. He is very grateful for project support.
4) NAME: RASOA Francoise Eliane
AGE: 20 years old

The exam period and her revision was disturbed by Coronavirus. Exam results have not yet been declared. She is waiting for the organisation of the university.
5) NAME: FITIAVANJANAHARY Joachimme Elysée
AGE: 20 years old

She sat the second-term exam per group. It is difficult because everyone had different ideas. She was also sick with a fever during her last exam, but she made an effort. She is waiting for results now.

He found the exams very difficult. Without the scholarship, he will not be able to continue his university studies.

He succeeded in 7 out of 10 subjects. Exams were finished on the 2nd March. He was accepted into the second year of his undergraduate degree, L2. Enrolment at the faculty has started and he is waiting for the registration fees from FBM/Ny Tanintsika.
8) NAME: RASOANIAVIANA Noeline
AGE: 23 years old

UNIVERSITY: ANDRAINJATO FIANARANTSOA, Science faculty
SUBJECT: Life Science (1st year of undergraduate, L1)
She succeeded in 4 out of 7 subjects. She completed exams on the 13th March. Even though she had a toothache during the exam, she was accepted into the second year of the undergraduate degree, L2. She promises to made an effort until the end of her studies to qualify.
9) NAME: RAMIANDRISOA Tolojanahary Ferdinand
AGE: 21 years old

SUBJECT: Mathematics (1st year of undergraduate, L1)
He passed 7 out of 11 subjects. However, he has to re-take the first year because he did not achieve the pass mark for his core subjects. He requests the continuation of the scholarship because his parents cannot pay his registration fees.
10) NAME: RAVONJISOA Jean Solomon
AGE: 23 years old

SUBJECT: Chinese languages (Second year of undergraduate, L2)
They finished 5 exams and he succeeded 3 of them. During this COVID-19 crisis, they do studies on- line.
