Manuscript Info Abstract ……………………. ……………………………………………………………… Manuscript History The Indirasagar Dam (Punasa Dam) is a multipurpose key project of Received: 15 December 2020 Madhya Pradesh on the Narmada river at Narmada Nagar in Khandwa Final Accepted: 18 January 2021 (Tehsil of West Nimar district) Madhya Pradesh in India.The physical Published: February 2021 and chemical properties of water including temperature, pH, transparency, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, hardness, nitrate, calcium and phosphorus concentration, were monitored from October 2018 to September 2019. The physical and chemical parameters were analyzed as per APHA, revealed that there were fewer variations in the physicochemical parameters and results received through the entire one year of study showed that the status of water quality is quite normal and within the permissible limit as mentioned with ISI.Moreover, according to the findings of this research and their comparison with the national and international water quality guidelines/standards, it could be said that the water quality of Punasa dam during the study period was acceptable. However, due to the changes occurred in nitrate and phosphorus and extensive development of eutrophication problem, accurate and continuous evaluation of water quality in this reservoir is deemed necessary. The GoI has initiated a mechanism of self-monitoring of compliance under which the target industries are required to install real-time monitoring systems (RTMS) and establish connectivity with MPPCB and ensure an uninterrupted operation of RTMS with >85% uptime frequency of data. The quality and reliability of data is a pre-requisite. As part of compliance the industries and the common facilities have installed the RTMS but the synchronization is still not satisfactory for ong or other reason. The connectivity with central server platform, performance check, control of camera PTZ functions, calibration of RTMS. monitoring of all the required parameters etc are among the issues which need to be focussed and attended on priority for smooth operation of surveillance mechanism to achieve the targetted objectives. India. ABSTRACT The piece of investigation was carried out to study the water as well as locked soil of sangwi reservoir of khargone, M.P. India. The change in physico chemical parameters of water such as water temperature, ph, turbidity, transparency, total hardness, Ca hardness, Mg hardness, alkalinity, chloride content, electrical conductivity, colour were analyzed in a period of March- April 2013.As above the physico chemical parameters of locked soil such as ph, colour, temperature, grain seize, specific gravity, moisture content, elasticity and plasticity were analyzed in above period. Sangwi reservoir, a small inland reservoir located in Village Sangwi, Teh Kasrawad District Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, India. The nutrients including are in sufficient quantities for the growth of aquatic animals in the reservoir. The above study indicated that the reservoir is under the category of mesotrophic water body slightly inclined towards eutrophication. Therefore, the conservation and management of this water body is very much required. The result indicated that physico chemical parameters of reservoir water and locked soil were within the permissible limits and can be used for domestic and irrigation purpose.
