In Madhya Pradesh, out of 313 blocks, 23 blocks extended to over exploited category, 09 blocks are in critical stage and 57 blocks are in semi critical stage (MP Dynamic Ground Water Assessment, 2015). As per rules of CGWB, the areas where the water level could not recuperated upto 3m depth after the monsoon K e yw or ds season, will essential artificial recharge. The solution lies in harvesting rainwater in farmers‟ field which are kept or left fallow for one reason or another. Though, all Groundwater these fields may not be good enough to recharge groundwater like percolation tanks recharge, Kharif but transfer water well below at least @4 mm/day even in clayey soils. So, to decide fallow, Priority which area is to be taken first in present study a method of identification of priority is Article Info proposed. Four basic criteria to decide the priority namely, amount of annual rainfall, the soil type, stage of ground water development stage and extent of kharif fallow. -

Baseline, dipstick and endline evaluation study of TRIF-SRLM Pilot in Madhya Pradesh The Transforming Rural India Foundation (TRIF) initiative envisages to transform the lives of the rural communities by collating the forces of multiple stakeholders at different levels for multi- dimensional change. The framework of engagement revolves around the strategy of strengthening the capacities of the poor communities to aspire and to build conditions of ‘behaviour change’ to ensure their irreversible climb. The framework for the initiative stressed on engagement with the government to support civic action and user accountability while at the same time building partnerships with the private sector to create new opportunities and address constraints. The initiative will be implemented in eight blocks of Madhya Pradesh namely, Thandla, Petlawad, Sondwa, Manawar, Bijadandi, Aarpur, Samnapur, and Khategaon to showcase the efficacy of the multi-stakeholder engagement in transforming the lives of the rural communities and to substantiate its capability in making a substantial difference at scale. Before implementation baseline is being conducted in these project areas and matching areas. Sambodhi proposed a quasi-experimental Difference in Difference (DID) design for the study and the DID estimator as an estimate to evaluate the effects of interventions and other treatments of interest on the outcome variable. A draft tool capturing the critical variables related to health, nutrition, immunization, education and livelihoods was developed and piloted. An instruction manual/guide for the tool was prepared for data collection as it was quintessential for ensuring smooth functioning of field operations. The final tool was translated in Hindi after incorporation of pilot findings. -

Manuscript Info Abstract ……………………. ……………………………………………………………… Manuscript History The Indirasagar Dam (Punasa Dam) is a multipurpose key project of Received: 15 December 2020 Madhya Pradesh on the Narmada river at Narmada Nagar in Khandwa Final Accepted: 18 January 2021 (Tehsil of West Nimar district) Madhya Pradesh in India.The physical Published: February 2021 and chemical properties of water including temperature, pH, transparency, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, hardness, nitrate, calcium and phosphorus concentration, were monitored from October 2018 to September 2019. The physical and chemical parameters were analyzed as per APHA, revealed that there were fewer variations in the physicochemical parameters and results received through the entire one year of study showed that the status of water quality is quite normal and within the permissible limit as mentioned with ISI.Moreover, according to the findings of this research and their comparison with the national and international water quality guidelines/standards, it could be said that the water quality of Punasa dam during the study period was acceptable. However, due to the changes occurred in nitrate and phosphorus and extensive development of eutrophication problem, accurate and continuous evaluation of water quality in this reservoir is deemed necessary.
