Traveling Cadets 2018

Anyone can request to have the events within the Region emailed to them by clicking the “Subscribe” button on the calendar http://www.westpointaog.org/allevents and entering their information. Information about individual Cadet travel is not posted on the calendar to protect their privacy. That information will be shared with Society Presidents when the various USMA Departments share with WPAOG’s Society Support.

AIADs: These occur all over the world and hundreds of Cadets travel for them. The majority of AIADs are over the summer months. A map of some typical domestic locations is available below. Information about individual AIAD summer travel will be available in late April from the International Intellectual Development Division of the Office of the Dean, and will be shared from WPAOG Society Support. Recent locations are indicated on the map below.

Cadet Public Relations Council (CPRC): This program, run by the Admissions Department, sends Cadets into their local community to speak on behalf of the Academy. During Thanksgiving and Spring Break, qualifying Cadets are released one to two days before or after their vacations to meet with Rotary Clubs, ROTC groups, community colleges, middle & high schools, Boys/Girls Scouts, church youth groups, civic organizations, Chamber of Commerce, Congressmen/women, military education centers, and libraries. Information about Cadets traveling for CPRC will be shared approximately six weeks before they travel. Societies are asked to coordinate with the local Field Force when reaching out to this group of traveling Cadets.

Clubs and Teams: Sometimes teams and clubs take the initiative and reach out to Society Support to request assistance while they are traveling. The Directorate of Cadet Activities notifies Society Support of confirmed club travel. When this happens, Society Support will reach out to the locally impacted Societies directly. Any information that WPAOG’s Communications and Marketing Department is notified of, is shared on the online calendar available at http://www.westpointaog.org/calendar. For instructions on how to have the WPAOG Event Calendar sent weekly to your email, please see the WPAOG Event Calendar Instructions in the Society Leader Toolkit. The calendar is divided up by Region, so you can see all the events in your Region. Detailed instructions for setting up these alerts are available in the Society Leader Toolkit. The local Parent Club will most likely also know what teams and clubs are coming to the area if their cadets are traveling.

**Sometimes information changes and WPAOG is not notified, so it is always best to confirm details of the event on the club or team’s webpage. ** • Team: Army West Point Athletics http://www.goarmywestpoint.com/ • Clubs: Directorate of Cadet Activities: http://www.usma.edu/dca/
