The exhibition recreates the sample images and stories submitted through an online survey that started in June 2018. Apart from debunking the myth of victim attire, the exhibition also highlights how widespread the cases are beyond official statistics, from childhood to adulthood. PROFILE OF RAPE WATCHDOG

▪ Founded in 2018, Rape Watchdog is an anonymous social media account advocating against Malaysia’s rape culture problem. By utilising memes, facts, and news, it calls out sexual threats, victim blaming, and other forms of rape culture language online. The official website www.rapewatchdog.my hosts an online version of the What Were You Wearing? (Malaysia) exhibition. ▪ The campaign is currently limited to Twitter - @RapeWatchdog @RapeWatchdog EXAMPLES (Trigger warning: Rape & sexual harassment)

▪ Each exhibit will have an accompanying description tag based on the online survey.

▪ Partitions and walls arranged to create a pathway, starting from the youngest victims to the oldest, to reflect how victims navigate the risk of rape and sexual harassment as they grow up.

▪ The partially closed pathway also serves as a relief and visual barrier for potential trauma retriggering among attendees who may have been victims themselves.

▪ Outside the pathway, the partitions also serve as a display board for news, facts, and comic strips related to rape, sexual harassment, and rape culture. MS. MIEN LY & A TEAM OF 5 FILMMAKERS - BACKGROUND & BIO THE FILMMAKERS
