Rep. Noel W. Campbell – R District 1 Committee member: Federalism, Property Rights and Public Policy; Military, Veterans and Regulatory Affairs; Transportation and Infrastructure (Chairman) Home City: Prescott Occupation: Retired US Naval Officer, Retired US Custom's officer, and Small Business Owner Member Since: 2015 My entire career has been spent in service to my country: first as a Naval Commander, then as a U.S. Customs agent, and finally as a helicopter and tanker pilot fighting fires for the U.S. Forest Service. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona in a family of law enforcement officers. I graduated from St. Mary's High School and later attended Arizona State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1965. I was fortunate to spend my third year of college at the National University of Mexico where I fell in love with Mexican culture and learned to speak and write fluent Spanish. I have two adult children, one delightful daughter-in-law, two beautiful grandsons, and brand new baby granddaughter. My family keeps me busy and mindful of my strong responsibility to young people and the future. Rep. Karen Fann - R District 1 Committee member: Finance (Vice-Chairman); Natural Resources, Energy and Water; Transportation and Technology (Vice- Chairman) Home City: Prescott Occupation: Small Business Owner Member Since: 2011 Karen moved to Prescott at the age of 4, is a life-long Republican, precinct committeeman; member of Rotary International and Elks. Karen is the owner and CEO of a highway construction company specializing in the installation of guardrail and signs throughout the State of Arizona, celebrating its 31st Anniversary. Her business was started in 1984 with $500 and has grown steadily to become Arizona’s largest guardrail company, with forty employees. Karen is a licensed contractor with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. In addition to the guardrail company, Karen and her husband Jim, owned and operated the FANN-M Ranch for nine years which was an equine facility, boarding horses, producing equine competitions, working with area 4-H clubs and other nonprofit organizations for community fundraisers. Rosanna Gabaldón - D District 2 Committee member: Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Local and International Affairs Home City: Sahuarita Occupation: Community Development Member Since: 2012 Rosanna’s believes in creating opportunities and prosperity by supporting and encouraging public education and economic development efforts. She is a champion for protecting Arizona’s unique environment and protecting our most vulnerable. She is serving her third term as an Arizona State Representative for Legislative District 2, and is a past council member of the Town of Sahuarita. Rosanna is known for her work with the local business community, school boards and major business partners to bring together successful opportunities for growth and education. She is most proud of her participation in programs that involve working with children. Rosanna also serves on the Friends of the Green Valley Library, the Southeast Arizona Advisory Board of the Chicanos Por La Causa, Advisory Council of the Green Valley Salvation Army, and is a member of the Southeast Arizona Citizens Forum Board of the International Boundary Water Commission. Rep. Daniel Hernandez - D District 2 Committee member: Federalism, Property Rights and Public Policy; Judiciary and Public Safety Member Since: 2017 Daniel Hernandez Jr., is an Arizona native. He is the 2015 Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 40 under 40 Man of the Year. As a first generation college student, he was a congressional intern for the office of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona. While assisting Congresswoman Giffords with a constituent event in Tucson on January 8, 2011, Daniel took actions for which he is widely credited with saving the life of the Congresswoman after a gunman shot her and 18 other people. Driven by passion for social justice and public service, he has worked on many issues at the state, local and federal level including: gun violence prevention, LGBT Equality, comprehensive immigration reform, and educational equity. He has served as a member on the City of Tucson Commission on LGBT issues. He served as a director on the Arizona Students’ Association’s Board of Directors, A Fellow for the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy and on the Board of Jobs for Arizona's Graduates. He was elected to the Sunnyside Unified School District Governing board in November 2011 and most recently served as President of the board. In that role, he was successful in creating a 5-year strategic plan, opened new k-8 fine arts magnet school, hired a new superintendent, accomplished comprehensive sex education and secured grant funding to implement it. Andrea Dalessandro – D District 2 Committee member: Judiciary; Natural Resources, Energy and Water Home City: Sahuarita Occupation: Retired math teacher, accounting professor, CPA/tax accountant Member Since:2013 Senator Andrea Dalessandro was born in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, the international symbol of freedom and opportunity. As the granddaughter of immigrants, she has been able to live the American Dream. With the opportunity of affordable higher education, she was able to become a high school math teacher and later, after she received her M.B.A. from Rutgers University, she became a C.P.A., small business owner and a college professor. Because of her knowledge of math and accounting she is frequently heard saying that "fiscal responsibility is a two-sided equation" and "better accountability for all tax dollars." As a Rotarian in the Tubac Club in Santa Cruz County, her guiding principles come from the Rotary 4 Way Test of the things Rotarians think, say, or do. • Is it the TRUTH? • Is it FAIR to ALL concerned? • Will it build GOODWILL and better friendships? • Will it be BENEFICIAL to ALL concerned? Ms. Dalessandro strongly believes that we must maximize business opportunities in Arizona. She recently graduated from the intensive, eleven-week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Citizens' Academy in Nogales. She believes that a better understanding of, and support for, increased trade with Mexico, will not only benefit people in Legislative District 2 (southern Pima and all of Santa Cruz County) but all of Arizona. Economic development and the growth of good paying, sustainable jobs with the public educational system to supply a well trained workforce are her priorities. She is concerned about a sufficient water supply and clean air. Ms. Dalessandro strongly believes that we must keep our promises to our veterans. Ms. Dalessandro serves on Judiciary, Rural Affairs and Environment and Financial Institutions Committees. She resides in Sahuarita. Sally Ann Gonzales District 3 Committee member: Energy, Environment and Natural Resources; Judiciary and Public Safety Home City: Tucson Occupation: Educator Member Since: 1997-2000, 2011-2015 Representative Sally Ann Gonzales was born in Brawley, California and raised in the Yaqui community of Guadalupe, Arizona with her ten sisters and brothers. She is married to longtime Pascua Yaqui tribal councilman Luis Gonzales with whom she has five daughters and 22 grandchildren. Sally holds a BA in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a Masters in Multicultural Education from the University of Arizona. Before staring her political career, Sally was an education professional. After leaving the legislature in 2000, she continued within her profession, serving as the Education Director of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. Her professional experience includes teaching, teacher training and administration for Tucson Unified School District, Tempe Elementary Schools, Arizona State University, and University of Arizona. Sally is currently the president of the board of Guadalupe Affordable Housing Inc. (GAHI), a for-profit corporation incorporated to conduct real estate development, specifically single and multi-family affordable housing developments. Its objectives are to promote the availability of quality and affordable housing for low- to moderate-income individuals and families. Rep. Macario Saldate – D District 3 Committee member: Education; Transportation and Infrastructure Home City: Tucson Occupation: Retired Educator Member Since: 2011 Macario was born in Nogales, Arizona, in 1941. Members of his family have lived in Arizona since the Gadsden Purchase in 1835. He completed all his undergraduate and graduate (Bachelors, Master's and PhD) work in Education at the University of Arizona and was a professor and administrator from 1972 to 2009. He was the fourth and longest serving (20 years) director of the UA Guadalajara Summer School and founding director of the UA Bilingual Education Programs, and initiated the UA Mexican American Studies and Research Center in 1981. He served on the Pima Community College District Governing Board from 1973 to 1979 and was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives from Legislative District
