Members of his family have lived in Arizona since the Gadsden Purchase in 1835. He was the fourth and longest serving (20 years) director of the UA Guadalajara Summer School and founding director of the UA Bilingual Education Programs, and initiated the UA Mexican American Studies and Research Center in 1981. He served on the Pima Community College District Governing Board from 1973 to 1979 and was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives from Legislative District 27 in 2010. Macario was reelected in 2012 and 2014 to represent Legislative District 3 of Tucson. He is a member of numerous groups and associations and his hobbies include welding, ironwork and small construction projects. Rep. Charlene R. She worked for Congressman for twelve years, coordinating constituent services for the western portion of then Congressional District 2. While working for Congressman Pastor, Charlene spearheaded an effort that culminated in bringing a Veteran's Administration clinic to Yuma County for the first time in history; previously the Phoenix Veterans facility was the closest place for them to receive these services. Charlene also helped numerous residents work through the red tape of the Federal Government for services ranging from Social Security to agriculture programs. She also served in a similar capacity for Congressman Raul Grijalva. Her vast experience led her to becoming a consultant for a software company that produced a Constituent Management System for the U.S. House of Representatives. Charlene later served Governor Janet Napolitano as a liaison for the Arizona Department of Environment Quality in Yuma County. In this capacity she worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as its counterpart in the Republic of Mexico, to ensure that the air and water in Southwestern Arizona remained safe while ensuring that businesses faced minimal impact. As an educator Charlene decided to make an impact outside of the classroom by being elected to Yuma Union High School District Governing Board, serving as president and vice president. On the board, she became an outspoken advocate for students while working with staff to ensure fair conditions — she advocated for the cafeteria workers during a time when their concerns were not being taken under consideration. Charlene worked with budget experts to ensure that physical education teachers and registered nurses continued to provide their services, which were critically needed in their schools. As a community-minded citizen, Charlene devotes time to local charities serving on boards and lending her experience to their challenges. Charlene and her husband, Sergio, have three children: Brian, Carlye, and Lisa. She lives with her husband in central Yuma less than two miles from where she was raised.

Elected to the Coolidge Unified School District Governing Board in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, he was voted to be the board’s vice-president upon taking office in 2009 and in 2013, was elected the board’s president. Steve's leadership in the creation of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) has resulted in thousands of new, good jobs and rebuilt vital Tucson regional roadways like La Cholla and La Canada. I was born July 27, 1975 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix AZ to my two awesome parents Manuel & Oralia Contreras. I’m the youngest of four children, in order from oldest to youngest Juanita Contreras,Manuel Contreras Jr., Mercedes Contreras, and myself. From birth I was raised in Cashion, Arizona and moved out of the town I’ve always called home at the age of 22. Growing up I was involved in Baseball, Wrestling, and Football. I attended Littleton Elementary School, Underdown JR High, and Westview High School. I was part of the first Graduating class of Westview back in 1993. After graduation I attended Estrella Mountain Community College and Glendale Community College in pursuit of a degree in Criminal Justice. In high school during the summer months I worked in fields picking onions and melons. This was my summer job until the end of my senior year when I started working at Fry’s in Avondale then went on to UPS. While going to college I was offered a job at the Law Office of Ben Miranda to whom I can still call a friend to this day. After working there for a few years I went off to work for two other law offices and then to the office that I’ve called home for the past 14 years which is Pomeroy & Associates. Pomeroy & Associates is not only my employer but my second family; I could never say enough of all the friends and clients that I have met over the years. I’ve coached Wrestling for more than ten years from Kindergarten children to Seniors in High School. I coached for the Desert Devils Wrestling program for kids from K through 8 the grade and at Westview High School. I’m married to Sara Violeta Contreras who is originally from Ajo, Arizona and came to the West Valley at the age of two. My wife attended Westwind Elementary School, Westview High School, and Estrella Mountain Community College where she received an Associated Degree. She works at Sierra Linda High School in the Tolleson Union High School District. We have 6 beautiful children and three grandchildren with one more expected June of 2013. The West Valley has always been home to both my wife and I and is something that we hold close to our hearts. My family roots in the West Valley go back to before my parents were born and when my Grandparents were young. After acquiring a BA in Accounting at BYU in 1980, he began his career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse and became an audit manager before he left to start ExecuShare with former Mayor Scott Smith of Mesa. He founded SkyMall in 1989 and sold it 13 years later to Rupert Murdoch's TV Guide Group. Ten years after founding SkyMall, he was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young. Bob founded NZ Legacy in 2002, a land, mineral and energy development company. Currently, NZ Legacy has a joint venture with a large Texas oil and gas company to explore the marketing potential of vast potash deposits of the Holbrook basin for agricultural use. The mine is slated to create 500 new high paying Arizona jobs. He also developed a 27 megawatt biomass generating plant in Snowflake Arizona, providing a green source of electricity to 27,000 homes in the White Mountains. Bob is very active in finding a long-term total solution to the immigration problem in Arizona and feels strongly that compassion and keeping families together needs to be part of the ultimate answer. He is currently aligned with Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery to promote the S.A.N.E. solution to immigration reform. In his first term, he introduced a bill to authorize a military-grade virtual border fence that will be used to verify border operational control. Bob is currently working with Customs and Border Protection and the Tohono-o'ohdam Nation on a funding & feasibility plan. At 10 years old, Senator Worsley and his family moved from Utah to Boise, Idaho, where he later met and married his wife Christi. Shortly after they were married over 38 years ago, they moved to the East Valley. They have traveled all over the world together, most extensively in China. Bolding a first generation college student is an outstanding scholar in both education and justice studies. After graduating at the top of his class from the University of Cincinnati, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and International Security, Reginald turned down a full-ride law school scholarship to become a Special Education teacher in South Phoenix to teach underserved youth. Growing up in an underserved neighborhood himself, Bolding understood firsthand the obstacles and barriers faced by youth and families in these communities and wanted to help create change. He started a non-profit to provide students from low-income communities’ access to internships opportunities at top companies in Arizona. During his first term, Bolding was one of the most successful Democrats in the Arizona State Legislature. Representative Bolding introduced bills that would increase access to early child education, create tuition free higher education options, and worked to develop job training programs. Additionally, Bolding led a criminal justice reform agenda introducing bills that require body-worn cameras of law enforcement officers, sentencing reform, and reduced private prison contracts. Representative Bolding serves on the House Education Committee and the Ways and Means Committee in the State Legislature. In 2016, Representative Bolding helped launch Veterans Reach to Teach - an initiative to provide veterans an opportunity and pathway to serve as teachers in Arizona classrooms. Family roots in District 16 began with her mother Ysabel Santana Hernandez’ passion for church work at St. Catherine’s and Immaculate Heart Church. Her father, Robert Hernandez, a Korean War paratrooper in the 11th American Airborne was a proud member of American Legion Post 41. Another bond with District 16 was her father’s construction work; building Ocotillo Library and Salvation Army center. Raised in the Jorgenson neighborhood near Bishop Henry Barnwell’s Missionary Baptist church where her athletic talents took her from all star fame, to East High basketball and scholarship offers from South Mountain Community College and Arizona State University. Catherine worked at South Mountain High school under principals René Diaz and Josephine Pete. Graduating from ASU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary education, she taught in the Roosevelt District. In 2004 she received her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and promoted to assistant principal. She’s been administrator in Washington and Cartwright school Districts. Catherine is in her first term of the State Legislature as a representative from district 16. Her legislative priority is education with a special focus on Dream Act students. In 2011, Catherine was appointed by State House Speaker, to the Education Ad Hoc Committee whose purpose is to recommend an effective data system for the state of Arizona. Catherine has also been selected to serve on the Board of Directors with National Association of Latino Elected Officials. NALEO is the largest and longest existing Latino elected officials organization in the United States. Among her appointments is also her seat on the Executive Committee on the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. She has also been named chairwoman for the International Relations, Trade, and Immigration Task Force with NHCSL. In 2008 Catherine was elected by the widest margin to the Roosevelt School Board. Roosevelt is the largest and oldest school district in the South Mountain community. Catherine is co-founder of the Manzana Foundation which helps students prepare for college. The Manzana Foundation recently joined a partnership with Navajo Technical College to extend accredited courses into the Phoenix area. Catherine’s passion in education has given DreamAct students an opportunity to continue their education at an affordable price through this partnership. People most important to Catherine is her husband Ben and her two children Gavin and Star.

Rep. Richard C. Andrade - D District 29 Committee member: Military, Veterans and Regulatory Affairs; Transportation and Infrastructure Home City: Glendale Occupation: Certified Locomotive Engineer at BMSF Railroad Member Since: 2015 - Present Richard C. Andrade was born in Winslow, AZ and spent his childhood moving between Arizona, California and New Mexico. Richard graduated from Gallup High School in Gallup, New Mexico in 1982 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1990. He was stationed at Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ and was an Aircraft Pneudraulics System Specialist on F-15 aircraft. While serving, he also attended Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) Leadership Schools. Richard was also the Assistant NCO in charge of Luke AFB, Honor Guard. Between 1990 and 1994, Richard would work in restaurant management and as a Lab Technician for Allied Signal Aerospace. In 1994, Richard hired out with the former Santa Fe Railroad, now BNSF Railway. In 1995 he was promoted to certified locomotive engineer and continues today to work as an engineer. Richard has been employed with the railroad for 23 years. While employed at BNSF, Richard became active with the United Transportation Union, now known as Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART). Richard has held several offices in his Lodge 1081, including Vice President, Vice Local Chairman of the Engineman Committee and the Alternate Legislative Representative. These leadership roles helped him learn the importance in becoming active with Legislative issues at the federal and state level. Richard also attended AFL-CIO conventions and participated in Day of Action at the State Capitol. Finally, Richard was active with the On Site Safety Committee, which was established to address safety concerns on the railroad. Due to a tragic event in Richard and Sally’s life, in 2011, they lobbied the Arizona State Legislature, 50th Legislature, 1st Regular Session to pass an aggressive dog law also known as Fabian’s Law. Richard’s experience as a Union member and leader were instrumental when it came to lobbying the Arizona State Legislature to pass Fabian’s Law. Richard was re-elected as a State Representative for Legislative District 29 in 2016. Serving in the military has made him a strong voice for Veterans. Richard sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as a ranking member and the Military, Veterans and Regulatory Affairs Committee as a ranking member. Richard saw that he could make a difference and believes strongly in protecting working families, worker rights and disappearing middle class families. Richard believes in a strong education system which is much needed in our state and protecting all people rights. Richard has been married to Sally M. Andrade, a Breast Cancer Survivor, for 28 years. Together they have resided in the West Valley since marriage and have lived in Glendale for 24 years.

Born in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1987, he along with his parents immigrated to the United States when he was three years of age. At a very young age, Chávez saw the injustices that surrounded him such as the lack of resources at his school or the oppression amongst minorities. In 2006, César graduated from Metro Tech Vocational High School. It was during his senior year when he became involved with the issues that affected his community such as the introduction of the DREAM Act and the passing of anti-immigration legislation, SB1070. Alongside other community leaders, he participated in the organization of some the nation's largest protests. As an Arizona State Representative, César Chávez vows to serve his district and state with the utmost respect & dedication needed in order to move forward.

Sen. Martin Quezada – D (Minority Whip) District 29 Committee member: Appropriations; Judiciary; Rules Home City: Phoenix Occupation: Attorney Member Since: 2012 Martín is a native of Phoenix and was born and spent his early childhood in Maryvale where he attended St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice and Ethnic Studies from ASU West, Martín spent five years working as a Research Analyst/Policy Advisor to the Democrat Caucus in the Arizona State Senate (2001) and the Arizona State House of Representatives (2002-2005) before being accepted into law school at ASU. While in law school, he served as President of the ASU Chicano/Latino Law Students Association (2006-2007), and served in the Graduate & Professional Students Association representing the law school in ASU’s graduate student government. Martín was honored with the Congressman Ed Pastor Outstanding Graduate Student Award at the 2008 Hispanic Convocation. After receiving his Juris Doctorate degree, Martín served a judicial clerkship for Judge Patricia Orozco on the Arizona Court of Appeals (2008-2009). Martín has been a community activist for several years and serves on numerous boards and commissions in the community including the ASU Los Diablos Latino Alumni Association, the Maryvale Village Planning Committee, the West Phoenix Revitalization Community Advisory Board and the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association Board of Directors. He was named as one of the Univision Radio/AZ Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Top 40 Hispanic Leaders Under Age 40 in 2009. In November 2009, Martín opened the doors to the “Law Office of Martín J. Quezada, PLLC,” where he practices in the areas of criminal defense and domestic relations. Martín has also practiced in the areas of civil litigation and election law. He continues to live in the west valley where he was elected to the Pendergast Elementary School District Governing Board in the 2010 General Election. He was appointed to the Arizona State House of Representatives in Legislative District #13 in March, 2012 to fill a vacant seat.

He currently serves as the Deputy Director of Promise Arizona, a nonprofit community-based organization, where he works to advance policies that strengthen families and increase civic participation. Tony was raised in West Phoenix in a home built by his late grandfather. He attended the Isaac School District, graduated from Carl Hayden Community High School, and later earned an undergraduate degree in Urban and Metropolitan Studies from Arizona State University. At an early age, Tony was inspired to think about and promote social justice, including breaking the cycles of poverty through community development at the nonprofit Neighborhood Ministries. Following years of community involvement and working closely with formally adjudicated young adults, he moved to New York to work on housing and jobs issues, an experience he brought back home to Arizona after learning mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, she remains in remission. Since returning to Arizona, Tony has committed himself to working with leaders throughout the state to become more engaged in the process of public policy decision making, while actively fighting to advance comprehensive immigration reform. Tony was elected in 2016 to serve Arizona’s 30th District as State Representative in the 53rd Legislature. This is his first term in office. He has pledged to champion issues on education, jobs development, and criminal justice reforms. In his free time, Tony enjoys spending time with his family and childhood friends.
