MOONSTRUCK PRESENT THEIR DEBUT FRINGE FESTIVAL PRODUCTION Featuring Canadian Comedy Award Winners/Nominees & Second City Alumnus

A comedic and improvised interpretation of one audience member’s dream MOONSTRUCK (Toronto – June 16, 2018) Ever wonder what your dreams really mean? At long last, your dreams will be answered – literally! Sewn together through the fabric of improv and comedy the award-winning cast of some of ’s most acclaimed improvisers, MOONSTRUCK will interpret one audience member’s dream in a side-splitting, thought- provoking, mind bending show… all in 60 minutes. Continuing a hugely successful run at The Bad Dog Theatre, the cast of MOONSTRUCK take their widely acclaimed monthly improv show to new heights to provide a fresh and funny improvised interpretation of your dreams that will remain with you long after the show has finished. The cast of MOONSTRUCK are comprised of some of Canada`s best improvisers. Featuring improv virtuosos: Sarah Hillier (Canadian Comedy Award Winner - Best Female Improviser ), Sean Tabares (Canadian Comedy Award Winner - Best Male improviser), Ken Hall (Canadian Comedy Award Winner - Best Breakout Artist), Paloma Nunez (Baroness von Sketch Show), Kevin Whalen (How to Kill a Comedian - The Second City), Jess Bryson (Canadian Comedy Award Nominee - Best Improv Troupe/ Bad Dog Repertory Players), Jess Grant (The Second City), Andy Hull (Canadian Comedy Award - Best Sketch Troupe/The Sketchersons). These veteran resident experts of improv will peel away the many layers of meaning and explore the deep crevasses and themes of one lucky audience member’s psyche in their debut appearance at The Toronto Fringe Festival. She studied theatre at the University of British Columbia, while also growing as an improviser. A regular performer with Instant Theatre and Vancouver Theatresports League, she moved to Toronto in 2010 to pursue comedy.

Jess is a Company Member, Director and Academy Director of The Bad Dog Theatre Company, performing in shows like Wayward, Pushpins and, Toronto, I Love You (nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award; won NOW Readers "Best Improv Troupe” 2013), La Grande Jatte (winner "Best Improv/Sketch Show" MyTheatreWorld 2016). She is also a member of the powerhouse troupe SquadGoals (nominated "Best Improv/Sketch Show" MyTheatreWorld 2017) .She also co-wrote Wordplay with Nick May, which was nominated for “Best Actress” & “Best New Writing” (DIGPF, 2016).

JESS Grant

Jess was also a regular on YTV's Extreme Babysitting Season 2, as well as the web series Roommates. Jess Grant has been performing and teaching improv in Toronto for over a decade. She has performed on stages in Chicago, North Carolina, New York and Vancouver and performed solo improv at the Detroit Improv Festival. Jess taught at University of Toronto and is currently a faculty member of Second City. She completed Paola Coletto’s School for Theatre Creators (Lecoq training) in 2015. KEN Hall

Ken Hall is a Canadian Comedy Award Winner (Best Breakout Artist) and multiple CCA award nominee. You can currently see Ken as his extraterrestrial alter ego 'Jeff the Grey' on TBS's hit show People of Earth. Ken is also an award winning director, actor, and writer and is one-half of the critically acclaimed comedic duo 2- MAN NO-SHOW with Isaac Kessler. Ken has appeared in numerous film and television roles including an appearance on Conan and most recently alongside Mads Mikkelson in the new Netflix feature film Polar. Other credits include the award winning feature film Patch Town - The Movie, Mistletoe Over Manhattan (Hallmark Channel), Odd Squad and Lost Girl.

SARAH Hillier

Sarah Hillier ​is an award winning Improviser/Comedian/ Actres/Creator. She has been awarded 2 Canadian Comedy Awards including Best Female Improviser and has also won Now Magazine’s award for Best Female Improviser. Sarah wrote and starred in two award winning shows at the world renowned Second City Toronto's Mainstage. Sarah is an alumni of Comedy Bar’s Sunday Night Live and Bad Dog Theatre’s Repertory Players. She performs comedy all over the US and Canada, usually with her comedy partner Inessa Frantowski in their show "Dancing with the Comedians". Some of Sarah’s writing credits include, staff writer for Disney Channel’s “Try It” and "Sketchersons TV". Some of her TV and film credits include "Frat Pack" (Lionsgate), "Cupcake and Dino" (Netflix), "Baroness Von Sketch" (CBC), "Crossroads of History" (The History Channel), "The Amazing Gayl Pile" (Amazon), "Odd Squad" (PBS), CMT's "Hit or Miss" and "Space Janitors" (Geek and Sundry)! ANDY Hull

Andy Hull (The Sketchersons, Bad Dog Featured Players, Second City House Company) is as actor and writer and multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominee and winner including nods for Best Sketch Troupe (The Sketchersons) and Best Webseries (Space Janitors).

Andy has also been featured as an actor in Geek & Sundry's Space Janitors, BiteTV's Comedy Bar, PBS's Odd Squad and alongside Kevin MacDonald (Kids in the Hall) and Jay Baruchel (This is the End) in FX's Man Seeking Woman. Andy lives in Toronto with his very talented wife Sarah Hillier, his zoomie cat, Leia and piles of Magic cards.

PALOMA Nuñez

Paloma Nuñez has been living and performing in Toronto as an actor and comedian for over 12 years. Recent theatre credits include: The Mad Show by Theatre Aspen, the 79th Second City Revue: Everything is Great Again (nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards), The Harold Experience, as part of Next Stage Festival 2018. Selected Film and Television credits include: Spotlight, Baroness Von Sketch (Seasons 1-3), In Contempt, Mouthpiece, The Beaverton, Schitt's Creek. Paloma performs regularly with an all female troupe of killer comedians called, Squad Goals (nominated for a My Entertainment World Critic’s Award). SEAN Tabares

Sean Tabares is a Canadian Comedy Award winning improvisor that can be seen performing with the Moonstruck cast and others at Bad Dog Theatre. You can also see him in the improvised D&D Live also at Bad Dog, or in this very Fringe Festival. In addition to these improv shows, you can see him and fellow Moonstruck cast member Andy Hull talking about Magic cards on the Commander's Brew Podcast. Sean is likely the nerdiest member of this cast.

KEVIN Whalen

Kevin Whalen is a lover of nachos and cribbage. When not indulging in either of these pleasures he can probably be found teaching improv at the Second City Training Centre. Or popping up in commercrials, and shows like Baroness Von Sketch, Odd Squad and Hannibal. Kevin has also written and perfromed in four revues at the Second City Toronto Mainstage. But his crowning achievement is finishing a cirbbage game in just five hands.
