Over 11,000 Investors Attracted to ’s Largest Investment Event

The 2015 Investor Day of icapital.biz Berhad educates investors on how to deal with volatile market conditions and Malaysia’s current socio-economic climate

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 22 September 2015 – The 2015 Investor Day of icapital.biz Berhad attracted over 11,000 people. Many participants, including seasoned investors, young professionals, students, parents and more benefitted from Asia’s most innovative investment event, held on 19th and 20th September at the KL Convention Centre.

The Investor Day, hosted annually by icapital.biz Berhad and sponsored by Capital Dynamics, is part of their social responsibility efforts to reach out to the community through top quality investment education, with the core focus being on empowering the public to become better investors, and make better decisions, especially during today’s highly disturbing socio-economic times, where even seasoned professionals are at odds on how and where to find value in the market. The Investor Day is open to icapital.biz Berhad’s share owners and the public for free.

“Malaysia has been going through trying times, with crisis after crisis gripping the country,” said Tan Teng Boo, CEO of Capital Dynamics, and the Designated Person of icapital.biz Berhad. “Our current socio-economic climate is fragile, the Ringgit is weakening, global and local markets turbulent layered upon uncertain economic prospects.”

This most anticipated investment event of the year was split into two parts. On 19th September, Teng Boo gave an inspiring session to over 3,500 participants. With Malaysians hating and angry with another, Teng Boo poignantly asked “Where is the love?” With many participants moved to tears, the experienced fund manager shared his insights on what Malaysians can do to better Malaysia’s seemingly bleak future.

@Symenloh tweeted “Good stuff by Tan Teng Boo, CEO Capital Dynamics #icapital @ Convention Centre”.

@hyp_wanchuen.c posted on Instagram, “A ‘touch and go’ sharing about endless possibilities that he sees for Malaysian. His sharing is always interesting and inspiring. This is the reason why I attend to investor day every year. Would definitely be there again next year!”

@wniza also on Instgarm, “Attending Investor Day at Tan Teng Boo's icapital.biz. He's my investment idol. I think I'm like one of the very few Malays here. Laughter and warmth everywhere in this very full house. ‘I'm not pro BN, I'm not pro opposition, I'm pro Malaysia’ - Tan Teng Boo”.

Bill Poh uploaded the “Where is the Love” video on Youtube with this experience:

“Malaysia investment guru Tan Teng Boo showed the ‘hippy’ side of himself by playing this song by Black Eyed Peas …… What a refreshing break from the usual run of the mill investment seminars. He may humbly not declare himself to be the Malaysia's Warren Buffett, but he is definitely the John Lennon of the investment world who asked a similar question in his song give peace a chance.”

“Change will not happen overnight,” said Teng Boo referring to Malaysia’s current socio- economic environment. “Malaysia is at a stage where we can go down one of two paths. Will we become like Argentina, pummelled by economic and political crisis and torn apart by riots, demonstrations? Or will we create our own future of stability, happiness and progress? It is entirely up to ordinary Malaysians to map out a common future. Positive change begins with each and every one of us possessing a deep sense of socially responsibility.”

Don’t give bribes to escape fines; don’t litter just because everyone else does; Malaysians should strive towards a common ground built on trust, integrity and social responsibility. It is critical for each and every one of us to stay on course with dogged determination.

20 September, Day Two, focused on equipping investors with the solid skills that will allow them to make better, and more informed investment decisions. The many sessions focused on value investing essentials such as the margin of safety principle in managing risks, the power of compounding with icapital.biz Berhad, global impact of the New SiIk Road, direction of the Ringgit and US interest rates. There was a special session titled “Mental Gymnastics” where the CEO Capital Dynamics explained the art of thinking and its application to investing.

In the 2015 Investor Day, Tan Teng Boo was joined by the rest of his Capital Dynamics’ global team along with Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin, Group Managing Director of Boustead Holdings Berhad, Mr Steven Siaw Kok Tong, Executive Director of ViTrox Corporation Berhad and Madam Ng Kiat Min, CEO of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad.
