We recommend disclosing your disability during the beginning phases of applying to Roosevelt. This will allow you to immediately meet with someone from the Learning Commons to discuss what your disability is and whether or not we will be a good fit for your learning style.
Roosevelt University’s application process is not different for our students with disabilities versus our students without disabilities. Programs/Services Offered by the Disability Services Office
The Learning Commons offers Tutoring (Math, Science, Computer Science, Business & Science) and Peer Mentoring Services. Our Peer Mentors work with students on meta-cognitive skills such as: note-taking, organization, time management, stress management and socio-emotional well-being.
Currently, all of the above services are offered virtually. Mental Health Resources
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all of our mental health resources have been outsourced to a third party. Our students have unlimited counseling sessions through a virtual portal that is available 24/7. Disability Specific Resources
Through the Learning Commons, we offer our Check-In For Success Program. This program allows the Learning Commons staff to meet with our students with disabilities on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to gauge how a student is doing not only academically but emotionally as well. These meetings range from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. Fun Videos/Supplemental Materials https://drive.google.com/file/d/1al0FV4_qs8LdEu2f_JfVVb0trPXEG6eO/view?usp= sharing Contacts
