PRESENTATION OF PRIZES
The first prize consists of:- The Soroptimist International of Liverpool Trophy to be held by the winner’s school for one year.
£50 to the winning contestant.
All other contestants will receive a book token for £10 and a certificate of achievement.

PUBLIC SPEAKING RULES
A three minute speech is to be made on a topic from the list provided.
Judging will be a panel of three, one of whom will be nominated chairman.
At the end of the competition the chairman will comment on the speeches and announce the winner.
The names of the contestants will be drawn to decide the order of speaking and these names will appear in sequence in the published programme.
Marks will be awarded for content, delivery and presentation.
Marks will be deducted for:- a. Ready prepared text or use of excessive notes. b. Memorisation without understanding. (We do not expect candidate to memorise their speech) c. Speeches that finish more than 20 seconds either side of the three minutes.
In the event of a draw the winner will be the contestant who is nearest the three minute mark.
The competition chairman may terminate any speech.
The decision of the judges is final.
Contestants may choose whether to remain outside the room until their allocated time or listen to the other contestants.
Contestants must be between 11 and 14 years of age on the day of the contest.
