My elder brother Sri.Tanikella Suri Babu, a voracious reader of English novels, introduced several great books to me, some of which touched and moved me, especially when he read the books written by R.K.Narayan. And now I feel extremely happy when our talented and extremely gifted Telugu girl, Malini Illendala, my friend Sri.I.S.R.Prasad’s daughter is trying to make a mark with her splendid and phenomenal writing prowess. Move On is an amazing novel – bright and vivid, which I felt would make a great Telugu movie. Malini has the most charming way in depicting the human emotions, making her an author to watch. I wish her success on every single step and to Malini – the author who wrote this exceptional book – a book that we can all feel proud of – I have no words except to say – ‘I Love You..!!’ Tanikella Bharani Film Actor, Writer, Poet, Director

This incredible debut novel by outstanding young author Malini Illendala is a perfect delight and absorbing page turner, packed with believable characters and plenty of heart. Move On is hugely appealing and one of the most engaging novels I have read in the recent times. Chota K Naidu, ISC – Cinematographer

When I first heard the line of this novel, I felt it would make a sensational Telugu movie. For all the inspired movie makers who wish to make a great movie, this novel would definitely ensure success. But I surmise they should buy the rights from bollywood movie makers who would have already bought the rights of this novel from you.. With a thousand dollar blessings... Bnim, Cartoonist and writer

At the clangour of the outlandish hour.. When the destiny entwines the three as two, and impels the two to ‘Move On’ as on.. Malini... should we believe that you wrote this novel? Yes, I have to.. because I know you very well. As a garland of amazing emotions as you are, at such a young age, you are your only competition. Go on and continue with your immortally inked pen. May Goddess Saraswathi shower her abundant blessings on you forever. All the best Swara Veenapani, Music Director

“Move On” is a novel that stands apart from a new author with its authentic narrative style. When I read the manuscript of “Move On” I was pleasantly surprised by the narrative flow and transition of characters. Contrary to being a novice on the horizon, author Miss. Malini Illendala efficiently handled the story and it’s natural progression. It may not be a twist- a-page potboiler but the human emotions and the complexity of the character traits make you glued to the story as it slowly blossoms into a romantic drama. At the same time, the author has cleverly incorporated high- octane thriller saga that surrounds a multi-billion corporate and entwined both the romantic love story and the corporate espionage to the hilt. The dialogue is contemporary, characters vivid, and narrative flow excellent. I truly believe Miss. Malini Illendala will reach great heights in her career. I wish her all the best on the release of her first novel “Move On”. Dr. Vamsee Krishna K Gurajala

Malini Illendala / Move On

CHAPTER – 1

“Naina.. NAINA...” Suresh called out, pacing in the front hall. “Oh my god, dad’s voice is so loud that it can be heard to the end of this lane..” Naina complained to Sri, her sister, rolling her eyes and applying her lipstick for the eleventh time that evening. “Not his fault. You’ve been in front of this mirror for the past three hours” Sri said in an expressionless tone, settling on the bed, preparing herself to wait for another one hour. “Common Sri, we are going to a wedding and it obviously takes time to get ready” “Oh really? This is not your marriage darling.” “Of course it’s not, but so many young and attractive guys are going to come. Who knows? May be I can find my prince today” She explained patiently to her sister, “And by the way, three hours is not sufficient to get ready for my marriage.. So get ready to start complaining” “NAINAAAA...” Her father’s voice was so loud this time that she literally jumped and accidentally applied the lipstick on her cheek. “Aaaghhh..” She turned to her sister who was laughing at her when their mother pushed her way into the room and said hurriedly in a whisper, “Naina.. come on, make it fast, your dad is going to kill us if you make him wait for another minute”

Malini Illendala / Move On “Mama.... see what dad did..” She complained to her mother showing her cheek, ignoring what she said. “That’s OK.. just clean it and come out now.. I mean NOW” “Mom.. it’s going to take another half an hour to clean it and re-apply” Sri called out after her mother as she went into the front hall to cool down her husband. “She didn’t even look at this” Naina said to Sri as she tried to clean the mess on her cheek. “OK now Naina.. stop it and let’s go before dad really kills us.” “OK..Ok.. stop it. Let’s go.” She said throwing her lipstick, blush, comb and a mirror in her bag. “Now why do you need that?” Naina smiled at her sister’s frowning face and explained, “To apply in the car honey.” “Oh.. Please Naina.. How can you do that in the car?” Sri asked with irritation. “Of course I can.. because I am not going to drive the car, right?” Said Naina as she chuckled, took a last look of herself in the mirror before leaving the room with her bag in one hand and holding her sister’s hand in the other, pulling her out from the room before she started to complain further. As they came out from their room, her father gave her an angry look and started to say something, “Naina..”, but she interrupted him, predicting the usual argument that always took place before they left for any function, “Dad, let’s go.. We’re getting late.” “And can you explain me why we are getting late?” He asked in a slow voice, clearly not in a mood to let go the argument. Radhika, his wife came to her daughter’s support and said hurriedly, “Leave it Suresh. Let’s go”, trying to avoid the routine argument and signalled the girls to move out as she went to get the door lock.

Malini Illendala / Move On “Yes dad, let’s go. We may miss the wedding.” Echoed Sri in support of her sister and pulled Naina outside before she could say anything and start an argument which was the most interesting hobby of Naina and her father. Suresh shot Naina a look that expressed how displeased he was and followed them outside the house towards their car, a one week old Renault Duster – in a bright red colour – which he bought on Naina’s impulsion. He preferred white or black over their present bright red, but as usual, he bought what his elder daughter Naina wanted. Sri, his younger daughter – 2 years younger than Naina – was not as demanding as her sister, who was quite insistent about what she wants. She was never short of her demands, which of course their father fulfilled with no complaints. It was an open secret in their family that he enjoyed satisfying her every single wish, reasonable or unreasonable, though at times they were more than he could bear. She was more close to their father and more pampered among the two. Naina and Sri talked animatedly in the back seat while Naina repeatedly checked herself in the hand mirror that she carried in her handbag and her father drove in silence. His wife accompanied him in his silence as they made their way across the 8’0 clock traffic. They reached the venue exactly forty-five minutes after they started at their house and Suresh checked the parking slots with irritation evident on his face, muttering continuously, “This is the reason I always say to start early. Now see, we don’t have a single slot left.” After a complete ten minute search, he parked the car in an empty slot hidden between two cars. He got down systematically and went inside the hall, with his wife following him and his daughters following their mother hand in hand. *****
