Peter Antenen is a consultant at Salon Hospitality, a bespoke hospitality consultancy that is smaller by design. Based in the UK, Peter is a keen observer of F&B trends and will share his insight on the latest with us.

11:00 Presentation: Dual Branded . We will explore, in depth, the dual-branded hotel phenomenon that has become so prevalent. We will look at the operational issues presented by these unique and complicated projects and the design implications of accommodating two different brands in a single structure.

Asli Kutlucan of Cycas Hospitality has worked on many dual-branded projects, examining the challenges and opportunities from all sides. Cycas has a proven track record of successfully marrying an extended stay hotel with a full-service hotel on the same site.

12:00 ULI Hotel and Resorts Council Discussion: We will have a brief discussion about the Hotel and Resort Product Council. We encourage your candid participation and invite you to consider getting involved by replacing the outgoing co-chairs.

2:00 Panel Discussion: Barcelona is at the vanguard of European cities trying to avoid being overrun by tourists. Earlier this year, Barcelona passed a moratorium on the development of new hotels and tourist apartments. Our panel of speakers from government and the hotel industry will explain what led to this drastic action and the effect that the moratorium will have on our industry. Venice recently announced that it is considering taking a similar step to preserve its character.
