Message

We are committed to promote Sports and Games at all levels in the campus with a two – fold objective. One is to help the students stay physically fit and healthy and the other is to help the students to have better understanding, better coordination and lead a meaningful life. The talents of the students are identified and focused training is given to them to excel in sports performance. The efforts of the faculty of Physical Education are laudable as our students have brought many laurels to the Institution by winning a number of competitions. And it is our wish to strive hard towards better excellence and ultimately taking the Institution to the dizzy heights of excellence that is, placing it in the national sports map of India.

Department of Physical Education

Profile

The Department of Physical Education was established in the year 2007. The Department is equipped with good infrastructure facilities. We are taking part in nearly 34 Sports & games in various categories including men & women, proper & scientific training is given to the students by the faculties from our own department to achieve greater level.

To strive for excellence in the promotion of sports and games for the holistic development of the students.

Mission

The department is committed to promote Sports and Games in the campus striving to make students physically fit and enrich interpersonal skills besides advocating emotional and spiritual quotient as a part of the students personality development programme.

Activities of the Department

Intensive Coaching Camps are Organized for the following Sports and games for (Men & Women) Athletics, Basketball, Ball Badminton, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Chess, Handball, Football, Fencing, Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Power lifting, Softball, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Weight lifting and Paralympics. Preparing the students for the Zonal & Inter-Zonal tournament is an essential job. Also conducting Inter department tournaments, organized grad Sports day.

 3 Women Ball Badminton Players represented Trichy District women team and participated in the senior state level Championship held at cuddalore on 24.12.2016 & 25.12.2016.  The following Ball Badminton women team Secured I Position in the District women’s selection level Champion ship organized in Anna Stadium, trichy on 18.12.2016. Kuzhali IV / IT, D.Vasanthi IV – Civil, N.Sasi III – ECE, T.Kaveya IV / CSE, & V.Usha II / Civil  S.Sathiskumar III Auto represented Trichy District for the U-19 State Championship held at Excel Engg.College, Namakkal, and represented Senior State Championship held at Cuddalore.

Handball

 Women Handball team won Runner-up in the District level monthly sports on December held at SDAT, Trichy.  Men Handball team won Runner-up in the Trichy District level Chief Minister Trophy.  6 Men Handball Players represented Trichy District Handball team for state level CM Trophy held at Dindugul.  Men Handball team Won the District level monthly tournament for March 2017.

Taekwondo

 NEHRUMATHI.A III – Pharma.of Taekwondo won Bronze medal in U-67 KG category and also won Rs.50,000/- cash prize CM Trophy held at Jaivabai Municipal Girls Higher Secondary School, Tirupur from 26.12.2016 to 29.12.2016.  A.Nehrumathi & Ayisha Siddika secured Gold medal and Manojkumar secured Silver medal in District level CM Trophy held at Anna Stadium, Trichy.  A.Nehrumathi & Ayisha Siddika secured Gold medal, Manojkumar secured Silver medal, Arunkumar, Elavarasi & Bharaneedharan secured Bronze medal in Trichy District Taekwondo Championship held at National College, Trichy.

WUSHU

 S.Kishore Kumar, Mech secured Gold medal in 13th Junior & Senior State WUSHU championship 2016 held at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore on 26.11.2016 & 27.11.2016.

Intramural sports

Department of Physical Education organized intramural sports in a grant manner. The first meeting of Inter-Department sports was held on 7th January 2017 3.00p.m at Dean Office. The Inter-Department tournament date was scheduled from 21st January 2017 in the men section. The department conducted 15th sports and games conducted respectively men section for Ball Badminton, Chess, Handball, Table Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Badminton, Kabaddi, Hockey, Volleyball, Tennis and Athletics, in women section 15 sports and games conducted respectively Ball Badminton, Chess, Tennikoit, Handball, Table Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, Throw ball, Basketball, Boxing, Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket and Athletics. The Inter-Department sports inaugurated by our Dean with Table Tennis men & women and ended with Athletics men & women. Almost 2000 students participated in the Intramural sports from the men side 1100 students and women side 900 students. Department also conducted sports and games for the staff members of UCE- BIT campus.

Sports Day

UCE- BIT campus grandly celebrated Sports Day on 27th march 2017. The Chief Guest was Mr.T.Senthilkumar, Superintendent of Police; Trichy delivered chief guest address and distributed the prizes. He distributed 554 medals for the men section and 449 medals for the women section and 32 trophies. March – past was also organized in a grand manner. Almost 480 contingents participated in March - past including 400 students, 25 NCC contingents. Computer Science Engineering department won the overall trophy for the year 2016-17.
