  • Francine Lecoultre Fabric Inventor
FRANCINE LECOULTRE FABRIC INVENTOR 1 BACKGROUND In the small Swiss village where Francine Lecoultre grew up everyone she loved performed whatever task was at hand with care and precision. Her mother created everything from scratch: homemade preserves and pastries to dresses, aprons and doilies. Her father and grandfather crafted the minuscule movable parts that went into luxury Swiss watches. So it was that at 7, Francine picked up needle and thread to fashion intricate dresses with puffed sleeves and embroidered hems for her dolls and stuffed animals. Today one of Hollywood’s foremost textile and costume designers, Francine says that as a child she learned the Swiss ethos of excellence and craftsmanship. She had always loved textiles and art and it seemed natural to teach about the subject she loved. But it wasn’t until Francine took the risky step of leaving a secure position as an art professor in Fribourg and moved to Los Angeles that she discovered her own unique gifts as an artist. “That leap of faith changed my life,” says Francine, whose work as a freelance costume designer and textile artist draws on her training in art, textiles and sewing. “Ideas flow from my brain to my hands” says Francine. Her career in Hollywood has in moments felt like a fairytale and her free flowing ideas have become one‐of‐a‐kind costumes for villains, aliens, leading men and princesses. 2 BACKGROUND Francine brought more than her heritage of Swiss craftsmanship with her to Los Angeles. A former Swiss cross‐country ski champion, mountain climber and long distance sailor, Francine arrived in LA well prepared for the physical demands of her hands‐on vocation in the highly competitive film industry.

  • Chynna Phillips – Primary Wave Music
CHYNNA PHILLIPS instagram.com/chynna_phillips twitter.com/chynnaphillips Chynna Phillips made her singing debut in 1989 with the group Wilson Phillips. The group was made up of Phillips, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, the daughters of Beach Boy Brian Wilson. Phillips began her show-business career as a model and actress before joining the trio. Chynna Phillips was born in Los Angeles, California to singing greats John and Michelle Phillips, members of the popular ’60s folk-rock band the Mamas and the Papas. She grew up amidst film greats such as Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson. Phillips and the Wilson sisters had known each other since they were infants and as children had a backyard band they called the Satellites. After graduating from high school, Phillips delved into a modeling/acting career. She was cast in John Hughes’ film Some Kind of Wonderful and had a starring role in the Invisible Kid. Owen Elliot, daughter of ex-Mama Cass Elliot, had suggested uniting ’60s musicians’ children together to do a charity album. After receiving a less than favorable response, Chynna joined with the Wilsons in 1986 and became Wilson Phillips. Owen Elliot was invited to join also, but she declined to pursue a solo career. The girls wrote and recorded several songs, including “Impulsive” and “Hold On,” before having enough money for a record contract. Finally in 1990, with the help of producer Richard Perry, the group produced and released their first album, Wilson Phillips, featuring the hits “Hold On,” “Release Me” and “You’re in Love.” The album sold more than ten million copies worldwide, sending the group on tours as far away as Japan.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS Biography August 30, 2018 An actor with over forty years of experience in theatre, film and television, Michael Douglas branched out into independent feature production in 1975 with the Academy Award-winning One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). Since then, as a producer and as an actor-producer, he has shown an uncanny knack for choosing projects that reflect changing trends and public concerns. Over the years, he has been involved in such controversial and politically influential motion pictures as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The China Syndrome (1979) and Traffic (2000), as well as such popular films as Romancing the Stone (1984) and Fatal Attraction (1987). The son of Kirk and Diana Douglas, Michael was bom in New Jersey. He attended the elite preparatory Choate School and spent his summers with his father on movie sets. Although accepted at Yale, Douglas attended the University of California, Santa Barbara. After receiving his B.A. degree in 1968, Douglas moved to New York City to continue his dramatic training, studying at the American Place Theatre with Wynn Handman and at the Neighborhood Playhouse, where he appeared in workshop productions of Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author and Thornton Wilder's Happy Journey. A few months after he arrived in New York, Douglas got his first big break when he was cast in the pivotal role of the free-spirited scientist who compromises his liberal views to accept a lucrative job with a high-tech chemical corporation in the CBS Playhouse production of Ellen M.
