The Start of More CollectionsBy IcabodThe anthology covers the start of the plague. For timing, in the "Black Tide" series, it's around the time of the last concert in Central Park. Each story is a stand alone and in most cases, is the start of a great book. In fact, the most frustration I had was when the tension was rising, things were interesting... then the story ends! Curses John Ringo, curses!Faith makes a brief appearance in one story, then her Dad in another. Both are set in the period after the "Black Tide" series but don't answer any of the lingering questions.Certain stories show a lack of familiarity with the plot of the series. Just say you can't go to a "Doc in a Box," chop up a cheerleader and have the vaccine the same evening. Sea wolf gave a detailed description that somebody skipped.Hopefully, a couple of the stories will be expanded into full books. I'd really like to see what happens to the red headed mailman.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Some good, two not so muchBy dennis milesWhile most of the stories were a tribute to John Ringo's world, two were not. One was so off I doubt the author read any of the books. I certainly stopped reading. The Alphas are animals with certain traits, not cunning killers with memories and plans. Overall, I liked the book and the majority of the stories. I hope some of the scientific and social issues are explored further in the future. Do the Betas children have normal brain function, for example. Overall, well worth your time and money.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. If you read the others, you have to read this (and will love it).By Larry BumpThe different stories are not all 100% compatible with the previous series; canon has not been maintained completely. Let that go, and it was an enjoyable read.If you just can't let that go, you will still enjoy most of it. A must read. RESIST THE ZOMBIE PLAGUE!The news that humanity had been dreading for ages had come true. Zombies are real. Worst of all, we created them. The apocalypse was upon us, and every man, woman and child had to answer a simple question of themselves: ldquo; What do we do now?rdquo; For a group of neighbors in the Chicago suburbs of Northern Indiana, it was ldquo;work together or dierdquo;...and figure out how to live on top of oil storage tanks to keep the zombies at bay. For the Biological Emergency Response Teams in New York City, it was ldquo;how long can we fight off the infected before it's too laterdquo; . .as well as having to fight other groups all out to claim a dwindling stock of supplies and safety. And for a group of cheerleaders, it was about the end of their world. And about what happens when you get a group of physically fit young women really, really angry. Featuring original stories from some of the brightest stars in the science fiction universe: John Ringo; Eric Flint, John Scalzi Dave Klecha, Sarah A. Hoyt, Jody Lynn Nye, Michael Z. Williamson, Kacey Ezellamdash;cheerleading coach, veteran, and helicopter pilotmdash;and more. About Black Tide Rising: ldquo;. an entertaining batch of . action-packed tales. Certainly, fans of Ringorsquo;s particular brand of action-adventure will be pleased.rdquo;mdash;Booklist "This anthology broadens Ringorsquo;s Black Tide world, serving up doses of humanity amid the ravenous afflicted. Comedy has a place in this harsh reality, and these stories stir adventure and emotion at a frantic clip throughout. Zombie fiction fans will be thrilled."mdash;Library Journal About the Black Tide Rising Series: ldquo; Not only has Ringo found a mostly unexplored corner of the zombie landscape, he's using the zombie frame to tackle a broader theme: the collapse and rebirth of civilization. The zombie scenes are exciting, sure, but its the human story that keeps us involved. A fine series.rdquo;mdash;Booklist About Under a Graveyard Sky: ldquo;Ringo combines humor and horror in this strong series debut, the thinking readerrsquo;s zombie novel.rdquo;mdash;Publishers Weekly About John Ringo: ldquo;[Ringorsquo;s work is] peopled with three-dimensional characters and spiced with personal drama as well as tactical finesse.rdquo;mdash;Library Journal ldquo;. Explosive. fans. .will appreciate Ringorsquo;s lively narrative and flavorful characters.rdquo;mdash;Publishers Weekly ldquo;. .practically impossible not to read in one sitting . exceedingly impressive . executed with skill, verve, and wit.rdquo;mdash;Booklist ldquo;Crackerjack storytelling.rdquo;mdash;Starlog BLACK TIDE RISING SERIES: Under a Graveyard Sky To Sail a Darkling Sea Islands of Rage and Hope Strands of Sorrow About the AuthorJohn Ringo brings fighting to life. He is the creator of the Posleen Wars series, which has become a New York Timesnbsp;best-selling series with over one million copies in print. The series contains A Hymn Before Battle, Gust Front, When the Devil Dances, Hellrsquo;s Faire, and Eye of the Storm. In addition, Ringo has penned the Council War series. Adding another dimension to his skills, Ringo created nationally best-selling techno-thriller novels about Mike Harmon (Ghost, Kildar, Choosers of the Slain, Unto the Breach, A Deeper Blue, and, with Ryan Sear, Tiger by the Tail). His techno-thriller The Last Centurion was also a national bestseller. His science-based zombie apocalypse Black Tide Rising series includes Under a Graveyard Sky, To Sail a Darkling Sea, Islands of Rage and Hope and Strands of Sorrow. A veteran of the 82nd Airborne, Ringo brings first-hand knowledge of military operations to his fiction. Gary Poole has worked in the entertainment and publishing industry for his entire adult life. He's worked directly with John Ringo on over a dozen novels, and has adapted several of them into screenplays (all of which remain in development). When not working with Ringo, he is the managing editor of a successful alternative newsweekly in Tennessee and spent years on the radio as a talk show host and award-winning broadcast journalist.nbsp; [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen PDF [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen Epub [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen Ebook [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen Rar [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen Zip [O4sCc.ebook] Black Tide Rising By From Baen Read Online.
