Dr. Lee Bee Wah, Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC & President of STTA are set to visit schools to help raise awareness for the upcoming Volkswagen 2011 Women’s World Cup Singapore. The World Champions, Feng, Wang and Li & STTA President will visit Nanyang Primary (52 King's Road) in the morning of 14 September at 8.30am and they will make an appearance at Nan Hua Primary (30 Jalan Lempeng) in the afternoon. We would like to invite your reporter and photographer to join us at the road show at Nanyang Primary School at 8.30am Besides driving awareness for this world class event, the players would also like to nurture an interest towards this sport among the students. The players will also be signing autographs and sparring with the students as well as interacting with them. Singapore is hosting the world’s top women table tennis athletes in October where the total cash prize is US$150,000 (S$181,100). Singapore’s Tianwei and Yuegu - will face stiff competition from world class players from China, Japan, Korea and other continents. Meanwhile, Li Jiawei -will face South Korea’s Park Mi Young in a wildcard playoff for qualification into the tournament. The two met in the Korean Open last year, where Li won 4-2 in the Women’s Singles Semifinals. Jiawei will take on the Korean on the first day of competition on 28th October.

Net proceeds from the sale of the card will go towards the setting up of the STTA Sports Fund.
