Those reviews were not wrong.Detlef should be commended for putting this book together a complete story , life and times of the infamous Keith Ferguson. The book makes Keith larger than life which for many he was and showed me so much more about him than I ever knew. Not only do we see the travels of Keith's life we get a complete education of the Austin and Texas blues scene. StewartThis book is a well deserved tribute to the greatest Blues bassist in history. Keith Ferguson was an icon in style and musicianship before his untimely death at the age of 50. As an original member of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Keith's bass playing earned him the title of "Mr. Bass". After reading this book I realized that I wasn't the only human that loved him. Tons of photos and interviews with the folks that made music with him, lived with him, and were great friends of his. I personally am so glad that he has not been forgotten.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I must admit to being a bit biased about this because not only was Keith a good friend, but I'm also quoted in the bookBy BenWell... I must admit to being a bit biased about this because not only was Keith a good friend, but I'm also quoted in the book. Howsomesoever... as an Austin native, and long time participant in and observer of the local music scene, I found this volume to be more fun and a better story (with regard to the ATX music scene/history) than many a text by more well known, and better promoted authors. Of course that might be because, being a musician, I liked that there were lotsa great pictures... ;-) Nonetheless, if you're looking for some good Austin blues history, you can't go wrong here!
