The result of this race in the GTE Pro class went in Porsche’s favour with the #92 Porsche 911 RSR of Kévin Estre/Neel Jani taking a commanding win. The #91 sister car of Gianmaria Bruni/Richard Lietz finished in fifth place in class being hampered by heavy traffic, a puncture and a rear end shunt by a Hypercar. The only Porsche finisher in GTE Am was the #88 Dempsey-Proton Porsche, and while a podium place was a possibility, a very www.porscheroadandrace.com late drive-through penalty torpedoed any chance of that happening. STOP PRESS Information relating to the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours just in… The good news is that the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans (21-22 August) will be open to fans! Tickets go on general sale at 10h00 CEST on Monday 21 June. www.porscheroadandrace.com Before the start of the race each year, an army helicopter delivers the French Tricolour flag which is used to start the race. In a spectacular manoeuvre, a pair of Commandos descend from the hovering helicopter to hand over the Tricolour to the starter. The helicopter then drops its nose to an almost vertical position, applies a burst of speed along the length of the start/finish straight and banks away steeply in a final display of aeronautical theatrics. The second helicopter in the top right of the picture, is filming the action for television. It makes for a great start to the race! Round 4 of the WEC will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans held over the weekend of 20-21 August, starting at the later time of 16h00 CEST. This will be the first time that the new Hypercar class will run at Le Mans. Attendance will be limited to approximately 50,000 (20% of the usual capacity, subject to Government decisions) and spectators will be required to present the health passport www.porscheroadandrace.com introduced by the French Government on 9 June. By reducing capacity and using the health passport, we can host a premium-quality event safely. Scrutineering (Saturday 14 August) and Test Day (Sunday 15 August) will not be open to the public. The circuit will be open to spectators from Wednesday 18 August for the first free practice sessions. Several campsites and car parks will be available. Entry will be free for under-16s (grandstand seats free for children under 8). Le Mans 24 Hours, 19-20 September 2020: The pre-race grid was a busy place despite the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic – note the empty grandstand Given the continually changing health situation, there will be no concerts or funfair at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. There will, however, be a whole range of entertainment to provide an outstanding experience for fans returning to the circuit. www.porscheroadandrace.com In the event of a government-enforced cancellation or another closed-door event, all spectators will be refunded. Vouchers and refunds If you are holding a 2020 voucher, your order will be processed automatically before tickets go on sale based on your 2020 voucher and adapted to the 2021 organisation. If you have a voucher from the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans but can’t make it this year, simply fill in the refund application here. The third round of the WEC will be the 6 Hours of Monza on 18 July. 2020-2024: REVOLUTIONARY REGULATIONS A new top class will be launched for 2020-2024: sleeker prototypes with more marque cachet. While these racing cars will cut quite an imposing figure, they will also retain the usage of a hybrid system while leaving free the choice of combustion engine at a predetermined and fixed cost. The name of the new class will be chosen by popular vote. The 2020-2024 plan will usher in a new era of endurance racing with an ultramodern style of prototype called.... whatever the fans of the discipline decide! Super Sportscar, GTPrototype, Le Mans Supercars or Le Mans Hypercars? The choice is the fans’! The regulations, devised by the ACO and the FIA, focus on the appearance, style and lines of the cars in the new premier league. Team and car diversity in endurance racing is one of the discipline’s foremost trademarks, never truer with the emergence of these stylized yet muscular cars, veritable racing beasts in the spirit and image of endurance. They will take on circuits like Le Mans, Spa, Silverstone, Fuji and Sebring in the day and night, rain or shine, in hot weather as in cold. That calls for a tough prototype, one as imposing as it is ingenious and technological. One that turns heads, like hypercars, supercars, prestigious GTs and concept cars do on the street or at any given motor show. So, why not draw inspiration from those machines to build endurance racing cars? Consider it a done deal. Aerodynamics cannot take precedence over aesthetics. Being the top class, these new prototypes must be technologically powerful and compelling in design and will therefore remain hybrid, with a KERS system in front and 4WD to ensure energy efficiency.

Press Release 10 August 2020 Preview, FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, round 6, Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) The Porsche GT Team is well prepared for the WEC restart Stuttgart. The 2019-2020 season of the World Endurance Championship resumes after more than a 24-week break due to the coronavirus pandemic. On August 15, round six of the World Endurance Championship WEC will be held at Spa- Francorchamps. Porsche tackles the six-hour race with two of the latest 911 RSR racers. The defending world champions Michael Christensen (Denmark) and Kévin Estre (France) share the cockpit of the No. 92 car, with their teammates Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) joining forces in the No. 91 Porsche. The factory squad returns to Belgium with positive memories: Last year, Porsche claimed an early world championship title in the GTE-Pro manufacturer’s classification. Cur- rently, the title defender ranks second in the GTE-Pro class after five races. The cus- tomer teams Dempsey-Proton Racing, Project 1 and Gulf Racing field five of last season’s 911 RSR in the GTE-Am class. The race The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is located in the far east of Belgium close to the German border. Opened in 1921, the 7.004-kilometre racetrack featuring 21 corners undulates through the Walloon countryside – not surprisingly, the circuit is also known as the “Ardennes rollercoaster”. • Press Release 18 September 2020
Press Release 18 September 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup Le Mans Spectacular support programme: 53 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup start at Le Mans Stuttgart. Porsche’s one-make cups are well represented by a packed grid at Le Mans. As part of the support programme of the legendary 24-hour race, the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and the Porsche Carrera Cup France deploy 53 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on the racetrack. Hollywood star Michael Fassbender contests the race as a prominent guest driver and gains valuable experience for his personal “Road to Le Mans” project. The German-Irish actor is eager to contest next year’s classic in a Porsche 911 RSR. Porsche AG also fields a second VIP vehicle helmed by Max van Splunteren (Netherlands) – as a reward for the rookie title winner’s strong performance in the 2020 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The unwavering appeal of Porsche’s one-make cups lies in the principle of equal opportunities: Identical vehicles, control tyres and restricted set-up options put the drivers’ performance in the foreground. In the past, many drivers from the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) had taken this path on their way to professional motor racing. In 2011, Kévin Estre won the French Carrera Cup before going on to claim the title in the German equivalent two years later. The Frenchman has been a member of Porsche’s factory driver squad since 2016. Estre won the GTE-Pro class at the 2018 Le Mans endurance classic. A year later, the 31-year-old was crowned world champion of the WEC there.
